Or like most of the rugby league loving country, mainly NSW and Queensland because Victoria only support rugby league in September/October when the Storm are usually in the Finals Series, and Western Australia’s media don’t seem to like rugby league either despite getting a shiny new team in 2027, and Tasmania probably don’t care, we presume you neutrals will jump on the Knights bandwagon.
Not only do Newcastle have the advantage of not being the Roosters, their story of recovering from last year’s wooden spooners to NRL Grand Finalists is an outstanding achievement and it doesn’t hurt that they haven’t been in a Grand Final (and won) since 2001.
The Roosters have less going for them for a neutral. One, they’re less likeable. Two, they’ve won stuff recently. Three, adding Daly Cherry-Evans won’t help. Marky Mark does, but that’s not enough. And he’s leaving anyway.
We could go on, but you’re not here to let us talk you into supporting the side we like more, we want to give yourself the chance to decide for yourself, and why not have a bit of fun along the way, and you may learn something about yourself.
