The Gurgler does like to use some obscure drivers in our Race previews and report, so who better to use than Teo Fabi to determine a race rating system.

So before each race we give a rating out of ten for four key category that are loosely based on each letter of Teo Fabi’s surname. Don’t know who Teo Fabi is, you should.

FAST 8/10

The section from the last proper corner of the lap to turn four is incredibly fast, and banks, and sweeps which makes it look even faster. The infield section can get a bit slow, but it does add to the action, so you can’t have everything.

ACTION 9/10

This is a track where stuff happens. Be it rain related, or two Championship rivals wiping each other out, or Championship deciders. There’s also the nature of the layout which actually allows for overtaking.

BIG HISTORY 9/10

This GP has been around since the 1970’s and the current track at Interlagos is the second incarnation, with the first one used in the 70’s and 80’s being twice the length and it wrapped around the current layout which you can see if you squint your eyes during the coverage of this year’s race. In between there was a race in Rio de Janeiro, and between the two there have been great races, big moments, championship deciders, and home town victories to legendary drivers.

INCLEMENT WEATHER  9/10

Weather Channel says 36% chance of PM Thunderstorms on Friday, 76% chance of PM Thunderstorms on Saturday, 68% chance of showers all day Sunday. Etra bonus point for a potential wet weather race on Sunday.

RACE POTENTIAL RATING 88% – Early morning time slot aside, this is a race not to be missed.
