Who doesn’t love this time of year in rugby league, the season is well underway, and with State of Origin looming in a few months, so are the Origin Bolters.
Like the term Boom Rookies which comes with a any half decent performance in the first few weeks of a Rookie season, the Origin Bolter gets wheeled out, and thrown around without a care in the world.
NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler boldly declared that 16/17 spots for the NSW Blues Origin team are up for grabs. That’s great for fans of the Origin Bolter, of which we certainly are.
But with so many potential Origin Bolters potentially thrown around now that there appears to be so many positions available, it is hard to keep up and stay informed.
That’s where we come in, with Your Official 2018 Origin Bolter Summary.
As the bolters are announced after half a good performance, we will be there to add them to an already bulging list.
Plus we give our verdict on the likelihood of them playing in the big series.

Source
Who? Manly Hooker, who plays for Fiji outside of Origin.
Chances? Too many in front of him
Euan Aitken

Chances? Not a bad shout, unless they want Jarryd Hayne to ruin things again this year.
Mitchell Moses
Source
Who? Eels and Lebanon halfback, already sent to Sin Bin twice this season.
Chances? Perhaps if the Eels weren’t going so badly. Perhaps a ploy by Qld Origin halves partner Corey Norman.
Josh Reynolds
Source

Chances? Gotta worry about getting on the field for Tigers first.

Chances? A good chance if he can be consistent in the NRL for next few months.
Latrell Mitchell
Source
Who? Lively Roosters centreand goal kicker
Chances? Needs Roosters to shine again. But centre/wing open for an Origin Bolter
Damien Cook
Source
Who? Souths lively number 9.
Chances? A hotly contested position, but NSW could do much worse in installing the man who saw off Robbie Farah. As a Qlder let’s hope they do.
Jack Bird
Source
Who? New Broncos recruit
Chances? Showing just how silly the Origin Bolter gets, Jack Bird has played one decent game since returning from injury. Yes it was at five eighth we suppose, but hardly sparkling form.
