NRL Finals Week 2 Bets & Advice
Normally we offer one betting special for every game every round. But given there’s only two games, we’ll offer up a Same Game Multi for each game.
Odds courtesy of Sportsbet and correct at time of use.
SATURDAY 7:50PM – ROOSTERS v CRONULLA @ Allianz Stadium
Roosters to win ($1.44)
Mark Nawaqanitawasse – Last Tryscorer ($7.50)
Sione Katoa to score anytime ($2.20)
@ $23.76
Although neither team is in wonderful form, and both did make a large amount of changes into the final round of the NRL regular season, there are too many good stats for the Roosters. If you overlook that the Roosters got the beaten last time these teams met in a Final Series match, the Roosters had won 13 of the previous 15 before that on a Saturday in Finals v all teams. Plus Roosters are W8 L2 from their last ten games at Allianz Stadium v Sydney teams.
As per some of the below visuals, Cronulla have a higher % for conceding in the last ten minutes of a game than any other team, as well as the wingers doing a lot of scoring, so why not Marky Mark to score the last try for real value. But the Roosters see wingers score a lot of tries against them, and Sione Katoa is in great try scoring form right now, so why not an anytime try for him.
SUNDAY 4:05PM – WARRIORS v NEWCASTLE @ Eden Park
Same Game Multi:
NEWCASTLE +8.5 start ($1.62)
Total Match Points Under 44.5 ($1.84)
Newcastle to score first ($2.20)
@ $6.56
There’s just something about the way Newcastle won, and the Warriors gave up their lead last weekend to make me think Newcastle are a genuine chance to win. But aside from annoying all of New Zealand, and we are big fans of the fans and wish them success, the Warriors still have some great stats on their side,
I just can’t fully tip against the Wahs. Stats like Warriors have won 17 of their last 19 games v Newcastle in New Zealand and since returning to New Zealand post-Covid, the Warriors are W8 L2 at home (in NZ) on a Sunday. Newcastle to score first is based on the Knights’ peak try scoring period is the 0-10 minute mark and the Warriors have let in the most tries in the same 10 minute window this season.
As for low point scoring, every second game of thereabouts between these sides is under 44 points or less. There’s also each team’s Final Series scoring which drops from the regular season. Combining both teams points for in Final Series since 1998, the combined points total is 36.3.
