NRL Round 24 Tips – Weekly Barely Interesting Stats

Our famed barely interesting stats all in the one place for your convenience and arguments. We’ve added a plus or minus with the team in question to hint whether it’s a good or bad stat too, with the bolded stats our favourite.

THU 8PM – PENRITH v ROOSTERS @ CommBank Stadium

PEN+ > Penrith have won 13 of their last 14 v Roosters.
PEN+ > Penrith have won the only game between these sides on a Thursday.
PEN+ > Penrith have won nine of their last 11 home games at CommBank Stadium, with the two losses coming on a Thursday.
PEN? > Penrith are W3 L3 on a Thursday at CommBank Stadium.
PEN- > Penrith have won only two of their last ten games on a Thursday. The sequence goes against them too (oldest game first) LLLLWLLLLW.
ROO+ > Roosters have now won seven in a row.
ROO+ > Roosters W7 L3 away record is the 2026 NRL Season’s best.
ROO+ > Roosters have won their last four away games on a Thursday.
ROO+ > Roosters have won seven of their last eight games away to Sydney sides.
ROO+ > Roosters only win across the last 14 games did at least come at CommBank Stadium.

Assessment: Roosters are hopeless against Penrith, but the Panthers have a Thursday night weak link, and the Roosters are handy away and away to Sydney clubs and better on a Thursday.

FRI 6PM – MANLY v DOLPHINS

MAN+ > Manly have scored 58 points in both of their two home games v Dolphins, and obviously won.
MAN+ > Manly have won 6 of their last 7 v Qld sides at home, just not the last one v Cowboys.
MAN+ > Manly have won their last four, and eight of their last nine home games at Brookvale on a Friday.
MAN- > Manly have lost five in a row now and their last two at home.
DOL+ > Dolphins are 4/4 for away games to Sydney teams this season. Three games in Sydney, one at Suncorp Stadium.
DOL+ > Dolphins have won 11 of their last 13 games.
DOL+> Dolphins have won four games in a row on a Friday. Three at Suncorp Stadium.
DOL? > Dolphins are W6 L4 v Sydney teams anywhere this season.

Assessment: Dolphins might have some scars of heavy defeats to Manly, but they have memories of winning the Battle of Brisbane and are in form. Manly’s recent form and Dolphins surprisingly good Sydney form gives them the edge. Although Manly’s home form on a Friday swings a little bit back their way.

FRI 8PM – BULLDOGS v SOUTH SYDNEY @ Accor Stadium

BUL+ > Bulldogs are W6 L2 since Round 14.
BUL+ > Bulldogs have won 5 of their last 6 at home.
BUL+ > Bulldogs have won all five home games this season v Sydney teams.
BUL? > Bulldogs are W1 L1 at home on a Friday this season.
SOU+ > Souths have won seven of their last eight games v Bulldogs on a Friday, all of which were Good Friday clashes.
SOU- > Souths have lost 6 of their last 7 games away from home.
SOU- > Souths have lost 7 of their last 8 away games to Sydney teams.
SOU- > Souths have won just four games of the 19 away to Sydney teams since 2024.
SOU- > Souths have lost seven in a row away to Sydney teams on a Friday.
SOU- > Souths have lost nine in a row away on a Friday v any team.

Assessment: Souths are so terrible away, away on a Friday and away to Sydney teams, the Bulldogs only need a little bit of form to have the edge here. The Dogs home form is enough.

SAT 3PM – CRONULLA v CANBERRA

CRO+ > Cronulla have won five of their 6 v Canberra.
CRO+ > Cronulla have won 13 of their last 14 games at Shark Park v all opposition.
CRO+ > Cronulla have won seven of their last eight at Shark Park v non-Sydney opposition.
CRO? > Cronulla are only W1 L1 at Shark Park on a Saturday this season.
CRO? > Cronulla have won their last two home games v Canberra but did lose eight of the nine before that.
CAN+ > Canberra have won the last three games on a Saturday at Shark Park v Cronulla, where the home side last won there on a Saturday v Canberra in 2011.
CAN+ > Canberra have won 6 of 8 games on a Saturday this season.

Assessment: The Sharks home form and recent record v Canberra looks tough to beat, and Canberra are not playing for anything other than Ricky’s wrath, but aren’t bad on a Saturday.

SAT 5:30PM – PARRAMATTA v NORTH QLD

PAR+ > Parramatta have won three in a row v North Queensland.
PAR+ > Parramatta have won all four games v North Queensland at CommBank Stadium.
PAR+ > Parramatta have won 6 of their last 7 home games (any ground) v North Qld.
PAR+ > Parramatta have won 15 of 18 home games on a Saturday at CommBank Stadium.
PAR+ > Parramatta are W10 L4 v Qld teams at CommBank Stadium but have won only two of their last five.
PAR+ > Parramatta have won both of the Saturday games v Qld sides at CommBank stadium.
NQL+ > North Qld have won four in a row v Sydney teams away, one of those games was at Suncorp Stadium.
NQL? > North Qld are W3 L4 for away games not in Queensland this season.

Assessment: Enough stats here to justify a Parramatta win over the Cowboys.

SAT 7:30PM – BRISBANE v WAHS

BNE+ > The home side (either team) have won eight of the last nine clashes between these sides.
BNE- > Brisbane have won once since April, with a run of 11 losses from 12 games.
BNE- > Broncos have lost five in a row at Suncorp Stadium.
BNE- > Brisbane are only three wins and 101 points difference better than the Dragons in last.
BNE- > Broncos have lost three in a row on a Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.
BNE- > Broncos have lost seven in a row at all grounds on a Saturday.
BNE? > Wahs won the last match between these sides at Suncorp Stadium but Brisbane won the previous three.
WAHS+ > Warriors are W5 L2 away on a Saturday this season.
WAHS+ > Warriors have won four of their last five games on a Saturday v Qld sides.
WAHS- > Since 2022, the Wahs are W6 L8 away to Qld sides.

Assessment: There’s very little going for the Broncos.

SUN 2PM – NEWCASTLE v GOLD COAST

NEW+ > Gold Coast won the most recent game between these sides in 2025, but before that it was seven wins in a row for Newcastle.
NEW+ > Newcastle have won 6 of their 8 games at home to Gold Coast on a Sunday.
NEW+ > Newcastle have won eight of their last ten games at home on a Sunday to Qld sides.
NEW+ > Newcastle have won their last three in a row at home on a Sunday and were on a run of five wins in a row at home on any day before losing to the Roosters last home game.
GCT+ > Gold Coast are 2/3 away to NSW teams this season on a Sunday.
GCT- > Gold Coast are W2 L4 away to Sydney/NSW teams this season, but their two wins were by 42 and 20 points.

Assessment: Newcastle are in better form with more to play for.

SUN 4PM – WESTS TIGERS v ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA @ CommBank Stadium

WTI- > Wests Tigers are on a losing streak of seven coming into this game and have passed 10 points scored only twice in that run.
WTI- > Wests Tigers are W7 L15 overall as the home side at CommBank Stadium.
WTI- > On a Sunday that declines to W2 L7.
WTI- > Wests Tigers are W2 L5 on a Sunday this season for all games.
WTI? > It’s one win each between these sides at CommBank Stadium.
STI+ > Dragons are W6 L2 in the last eight games v Wests Tigers and won three of the last four on a Sunday.
STI- > Dragons are W2 L7 on a Sunday this season.
STI- > Dragons are W1 L6 away on a Sunday this season.
STI- > Dragons have lost seven in a row on a Sunday v Sydney teams, but their last two wins away on a Sunday being against the Tigers.
STI- > Dragons have lost ten in a row away to Sydney teams on any day.

Assessment: Stats don’t really favour either side, but the Dragons are at least on the up.
