Been too distracted by State of Origin? Do you need some last-minute NRL tipping advice? Or simply want something else to blame when the tips go wrong? Either way, The Gurgler’s 2026 NRL Round 14 Ratings and more is here to deliver a little help.
In addition to our huge stable of NRL stats and tipping gear, we have used all the stats we have, smashed them against each other like atoms, and come up with a H2H rating as dangerous to the outside world as Chernobyl.
We include lots of things, and add to it as the season progresses, come up with a magic number for each team, then slice up the scores out of 100% between the two sides. The bigger the percentage, the more likely to win.
This week we added the split to whether the side is winning through stats (historic H2H, day, ground record) or form (2026 form split into various ways).

2026 NRL Round 14 Form v Stats Summary
Now we go through every game with a bunch of visuals splitting the recent form of both teams, with some H2H stats thrown.
THU 7:50PM – MANLY v SOUTH SYDNEY

Final Word: No Trell for the big game against Manly, but plenty of other troops arriving for the Rabbitohs. Cameron Murray, two hookers, Campbell Graham and big Daivd Fifita who can turn a game like Trell at his best. Manly get their Origin duo back in Haumole Olakau’atu and Tolutau Koula, so it should be a pretty exciting start to the weekend.
FRI 6PM – MELBOURNE v NEWCASTLE

Final Word: There’s something still not quite convincing about Melbourne despite their customary win over the Roosters last weekend. Meanwhile the Knights are approaching real deal territory if they can win in Melbourne which is a rarity. The battle of the fullback should be plenty good too.
FRI 8PM – CANBERRA v ROOSTERS

Final Word: A good win at home last weekend, something that hasn’t happened much lately for Canberra. This is an away team special with 8/last 10 games going to the visitor. Another loss and the Roosters will be three without a win, and worries might start. At least for interest Mark Nawaqanitawase returns.
SAT 5:30PM – NORTH QUEENSLAND v DOLPHINS

Final Word: Dolphins have a great record in Townsville and are on a run of four wins and get Herbie Farnworth and Kodi Nikorima and The Hammer back. And there’s always Ray Stone. Cowboys coming off a loss in Canberra while the Dolphins are coming off a win at the same ground. Cowboys form is so hard to read it’s almost flip a coin territory.
SAT 7:30PM – BRISBANE v GOLD COAST

Final Word: Neither of these sides won in May so not much form going into this local rivalry. Broncos form has fallen off a cliff losing to the unwinnable Dragons and haven’t been great lately, in fact played better with more injuries to their squad. Gold Coast doign what the Gold Coast do, competitive mostly but not winning.
SUN 2PM – WESTS TIGERS v PENRITH @ CommBank Stadium

Final Word: As good as it is to see the Wests Tigers back to winning ways, it doesn’t help that the next game is against Penrith with Nathan Cleary and his Origin chums returning. A competitive loss with a nice consolation try is probably the best outcome.
SUN 4PM – CRONULLA v ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA

Final Word: A nice southern Sydney derby in the traditional Sydney NRL team timeslot, and with renewed interest now the Dragons have won a game. Some good Ins for each side with KL Iro for the Sharks and Jaydn Su’A for the Dragons.
MON 4PM – BULLDOGS v PARRAMATTA @ Olympic Stadium

Final Word: Two wins each for these sides since Round 3, no wonder it’s being played on a NSW only Public Holiday.
