2026 NRL Round 9 Results & Stats – Match by Match

Match Summary and Stats

Bulldogs are heading to crisis mode after another loss, this time at home to the frustratingly inconsistent Cowboys. The Points of Interest

  • North Queensland have won eight of their past ten away games v Bulldogs.
  • Bulldogs have won just one of their last six games.
  • Bulldogs have lost seven Friday games in a row.
  • Cowboys have won all three Friday games this season, and four in a row.

Match Summary and Stats

It took a really long time for the Dolphins to get going but eventually they did in the second half, where they scored all the tries and consigned the Storm to a seventh straight loss. The Dolphins are still nowhere near their best compared to this time last season, but at least there’s a glimpse. Jack Bostock made a good return from injury playing in the unfamiliar position of the centres. The 28-10 win is a good one for the Dolphins as it gets them closer to a top eight position, and in conditions that weren’t great (raining).

2026 NRL Round 9 Results Stats - G2 Dolphins v Melbourne

The Points of Interest

  • Melbourne have lost seven in a row for the first time ever.
  • Dolphins broke their losing streak of four games.
  • Melbourne have lost their last five games on any day v Qld sides and have lost their last four at Suncorp Stadium.
  • Melbourne have lost nine of their last 11 games away on a Friday.

Match Summary and Stats

Canberra continue their good recent run over the Gold Coast with a win to kick off Super Saturday. Neither side was particularly great, but Canberra’s first half set up the win nicely. The Gold Coast had chances, with either an error or the Bunker intervention stopping them from bridging the gap. It gives Canberra a third win in four and you can see the green shoots for their 2026 season. Mind you, their poor start means Canberra are still 13th.

2026 NRL Round 8 Results Stats - G3 Gold Coast v Canberra

The Points of Interest

  • Canberra have won seven in a row v Gold Coast and 12 of the last 13 matches.
  • It’s six straight losses as the home side to Canberra too, with a last win in 2018 (one loss was a Covid era match at Kogarah).
  • Gold Coast have won one of their last seven home games on a Saturday v all teams.
  • Canberra improved their recent form v Qld away from home to W5 L10.

Match Summary and Stats

The Warriors aka Wahs keep their top four chances on track with a win over Parramatta. The Eels had the H2H advantage going into this game, but the Wahs have all the form and their fourth win in a row, and they currently sit second and on equal points as Penrith. Parramatta got to within four points in the second half at 18-14, but the Wahs had more to come and sealed the win with ten minutes to go.

2026 NRL Round 9 Results Stats - G4 Parramatta v Warriors

The Points of Interest

  • Parramatta had won six of their last seven games v Wahs, heading into this match.
  • Warriors have won all five Saturday games this season – three have been away.
  • Warriors have won seven of their last nine games away on a Saturday.
  • Parramatta had a good recent home record on a Saturday and it’s still not bad after this loss. Since 2019 it is W14 L3 at CommBank Stadium.

Match Summary and Stats

A wonderful game of rugby league between two big heavy hitters. The Roosters led 24-0 at half time and were really on, even extending the break after half time. Then the Broncos woke up, on the back of Reece Walsh and Xavier Willison the Broncos scored four tries in a row to get close and had all the momentum. But then Kotoni Staggs let his aggression in defence get the better of him and was sin binned for a forearm into the head of a tackled player. That was the 70th minute and the Roosters sealed the game not long after. The cost for the Broncos could be more than two points, with Adam Reynolds suffering a Grade 1 Head Knock.

2026 NRL Round 9 Results Stats - G5 Roosters v Brisbane

The Points of Interest

  • Roosters are W5 L1 on a Saturday at the Sydney Football Stadium v Broncos.
  • Roosters have won seven of their last eight games as the home side on a Saturday.
  • Roosters have won ten games in a row on a Saturday v Qld sides. Note: Saturday’s game was the only one v Brisbane.
  • The loss broke Brisbane’s run of six straight wins on a Saturday.
