BroncosAI Greg Norman 2025 NRL Finals Predictions Bulldogs

The 2026 NRL Season is almost here and continuing The Gurgler’s huge pile of NRL Preview gear is our 2026 NRL Season Forecast Ratings.

What is our 2026 NRL Season Forecast Ratings I hear you ask? Well, first of all thanks for asking.

Secondly, we decided that a normal NRL season preview isn’t nearly complex enough, so we have taken various stats over various periods, applied various calculations, included various visuals and used the numbers to come up with a 2026 NRL Season ladder in advance.

Not only do we have a 2026 final ladder in advance, but we have included some barely interesting visuals for each category.

But do read on, for some barely interesting NRL pre-season content.

2026 NRL Season Forecast Ratings

So below is the final NRL Ladder for 2026 according to our calculations. There are a few changes from 2025, but not as much as you’d think.

How did we get to that? Thanks for asking. We took each team’s record over the past 1, 3 and 5 years for Days played, Day v Night, v Opposition State location, v Opposition H2H, v Top/Bottom teams, and form when splitting the season into three around Origin.

With a bias towards more recent results, but also a calculation on improvement over the past few seasons, we came up with a past rating. We then calculated a 2026 rating based on how many times they play that day, at night v certain opposition etc in 2026. We finally applied an addition/subtraction multiplier based on 2026 squad improvements through recruitment or returns from long term injuries.

The ratings points are calculated as a proportion against the total number points available over the 2026 season for the final ladder.

Sounds overly complicated to get a predicted 2026 NRL Ladder? Of course it is. You wouldn’t have it any other way.

2026 NRL Jerseys Ratings with Grek Norman

The 2026 NRL season isn’t far away, and there’s so many things to cover before the first game kicks off in Las Vegas, so in addition to bold predictions, Captain Hindsight’s obvious observations, season outcome calculations and a Donkey giving sharp opinions, we offer up our look at one of the NRL’s most valuable commodities with the 2026 NRL Jerseys Ratings with AI Grek Norman.

Our 2026 NRL Jerseys Review goes through every team’s offering in the fashion department for 2026, rated them in order of the average out of 10 for the home and away jersey, and have even got Gurgler favourite AI Grek Norman to run his eye over it all with comments.

Note: we have only included the main home and away jersey of each team, except the Roosters, couldn’t find their away kit. Yes, we know this will be about five short of the amount of jerseys the Wests Tigers and Warriors will release this season, but it will have to do.

2 Roosters 8 8 NA
3 Souths 7.5 7 8
4 Parramatta 7.5 7 8

15 Newcastle 4.5 6 3
16 North Qld 4 4 4
17 Gold Coast 3.5 5 2

DOLPHINS

AI Grek says: Less of the putrid gold/sand colour is a good thing. They fixed up the home jersey last season, and offer up a classy away offering this season, that looks a lot more Redcliffe than Dolphins.

ROOSTERS

AI Grek says: Two new additions of note to the Roosters jersey for 2026, Adidas stripes which look cool, and Daly Cherry-Evans which looks decidedly less cool.

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

AI Grek says: The Minties wrapper jersey is back. And not before time.

2026 nrl jerseys - south sydney rabbitohs

PARRAMATTA EELS

AI Grek says: Full of retro charm, the Eels will be hoping a trip back in time will lead to a trip back to winning the premiership. From the same era.

2026 nrl jerseys - parramatta eels

WARRIORS

AI Grek says: Aside from that sponsor circle being too big, it’s another quality offering from the Warriors.

2026 nrl jerseys - warriors

MANLY SEA EAGLES

AI Grek says: Double flashback of retro jersey is always good. Home is the 1990’s Pepsi era one, which one associates with Mark Carroll battering people. The other is a nice 70’s / 80’s throwback. Boxes ticked.

CRONULLA SHARKS

AI Grek says: Doing what they can with limited colours. Black away jersey is particularly good.

2026 nrl jerseys - cronulla sharks

PENRITH PANTHERS

AI Grek says: Wondering if they are too superstitious to change their jerseys, or I I’m too ignorant to notice the difference. Either way, they still look good.

2026 nrl jerseys - penrith panthers

MELBOURNE STORM

AI Grek says: Better than previous years. Purple is hard to work with. At least the away jersey doesn’t look like it has been worn by Donald Duck.

2026 nrl jerseys - melbourne storm

ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

AI Grek says: Standard home jersey, but great Illawarra theme for the away jersey.

2026 nrl jerseys - st george illawarra

BULLDOGS

AI Grek says: The neatness of the colour flip is good, but the logo has too much real estate.

2026 nrl jerseys - bulldogs

CANBERRA RAIDERS

AI Grek says: The home jersey looks pretty standard for a Raiders effort, but who wants an ACT Brumbies rip off for a second jersey. Seems silly to kind-of promote another sport with a jersey.

2026 nrl jerseys - canberra raiders

BRISBANE BRONCOS

AI Grek says: Lucky the blue one has more stripes as you could barely tell them apart. The new logo might impress marketing folk, but it’s a meh from me. And many others.

2026 nrl jerseys - brisbane broncos

WESTS TIGERS

AI Grek says: Tiger patterns on the sleeves look pretty cool, but it also looks like 1990’s golf shirts. And I’d know.

2026 nrl jerseys - wests tigers

NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS

AI Grek says: The bars on the jerseys will act much like the prison for their 2026 ambitions.

2026 nrl jerseys - newcastle knights

NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS

AI Grek says: Still look like Regional Council polo shirts.

2026 nrl jerseys - north qld cowboys

GOLD COAST TITANS

AI Grek says: Looks like one of those template jerseys you see on Temu.

EVERYDAY NEWS – The Popular Sitcom Ends

EVERYDAY NEWS - The Popular Sitcom Ends

A popular American sitcom will end after nine seasons.

Starting in 2018, Housemates earnt acclaim for its relatable plots, humour, and chemistry between the main characters.

Though as the show wore on, those strengths became weaknesses: the relatable plots become tired and cliched, the humour was more reliant on marketing-friendly catchphrases and driven by an annoying laugh track, and the chemistry started to wane as the main cast became movie stars with different levels of fame.

Housemates‘ created Matt Partridge thought he’d be sad when the cancellation news came in December last year, but he was surprisingly relieved.

“I knew we were in trouble when we were writing season eight and were starting to recycle plots from earlier seasons. It wasn’t intentional, but you only have so many ideas. And our plan to bring back popular side characters was criticised as ‘cynical nostalgia bait’. Part of me wanted to get to 10 seasons, but we would have been running on fumes by then,” said Partridge. “Though I can’t argue about the fading chemistry. The main cast has had less time and interest for us as their movie careers kicked off. When they’re not shooting, they’re talking with their agents or studying scripts for their next movie. You can’t blame them for wanting to make the most of their opportunities.”

Since receiving the news (with the final episode of season nine airing in May), Partridge has spent a lot of time thinking about his next project.

“Some of the secondary actors are starting an official rewatch podcast and invited me to be on it, but I need a clean start. I’ve been working on some book ideas that I may pursue once I finally have some free time.”

Though the show’s commercial TV network is doing its best to keep the show’s popularity up, showing old episodes at 7pm every weeknight and a special Housemates Night on Wednesdays: three old episodes (7pm, 7:30pm, 8pm) a new episode (8:30pm), and an ‘adults only’ episode (9pm).

Partridge hopes the show will be revisited with fonder eyes when it eventually moves to streaming services.

“The ratings are falling now because fans are bored of it, but give them a few years to get nostalgic about the show, and then they can binge it through streaming and remember why they loved it in the first place.”

2025-26 Premier League Predictions Feature Image

Slightly more interesting than a transfer window, standing in as an interim manager because there’s no one else available, in danger of being sent out on loan, on the verge of suspension due to excessive yellow cards, playing in a formation that was unfashionable and illegal 60 years ago, but somehow still getting the full support of the Chairman, it’s our 2025-26 Premier League Predictions Week 24.

Each gameweek in this 2025-26 Premier League season we offer up a stat filled prediction preview, with some barely interesting stats and visuals, just enough to bluff your way through various tipping competitions or betting shops.

Barely Interesting Stats – 2025-26 Premier League Predictions Week 24 – Stats and Thoughts

Help yourself to a buffet of barely interesting stats, quick one liners and more to help pick a winner.

BEST OF WEEK 24 STATS

Bournemouth have won three in a row v Wolves at Wolves.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 14 games v Leeds (W12 D2). Leeds’ last win was back in 2003.

Five of the last six games, and seven of the last nine games between Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace have ended up draws.

Aston Villa have never lost at home to Brentford (W4 D7).

Tottenham (D1 L2) haven’t beaten a big six club at home this season, and Man City haven’t beaten a big six club away from home (D1 L1).

Burnley are 2/2 v fellow promoted sides this season.

2025-26 Premier League Predictions Week 24

SATURDAY 3PM – WOLVES v BOURNEMOUTH

Stats: Bournemouth have won three in a row v Wolves at Wolves. Bournemouth are unbeaten v current bottom six sides this season (W2 D4), only four other teams remain unbeaten v current bottom six sides. Of those, Man City are the only team with a 100% record (7 games).

Verdict: Will probably be more interesting than it first looks on paper.

Prediction: Wolves 1 Bournemouth 2

SATURDAY 3PM LEEDS v ARSENAL

Stats: Arsenal have won six in a row v Leeds. Arsenal are also unbeaten in their last 14 games v Leeds (W12 D2). Leeds’ last win was back in 2003. Leeds’ last win at home to Arsenal goes even further back to 2000 (D2 L7). Arsenal are W6 D1 v current bottom six sides, and W2 D1 v promoted sides. Leeds are W1 D3 L3 v big six sides and W1 D3 L3 v current top six sides.

Verdict: Arsenal can smell a title choke, as Leeds can taste another good result v top sides.

Prediction: Leeds 1 Arsenal 3

SATURDAY 3PMBRIGHTON v EVERTON

Stats: Everton are unbeaten in their last five trips to Brighton (W3 D2). Brighton are W2 D4 L3 v current sides in the middle eight, Everton are W3 D1 L3. Brighton are unbeaten at home v middle eight sides (W2 D4), Everton are unbeaten away to middle eight sides (W1 D1).

Verdict: The de-facto Saturday 3pm special.

Prediction: Brighton 1 Everton 1

SATURDAY 5:30PM CHELSEA v WEST HAM

Stats: Chelsea have won their past four games v West Ham, by a combined odds of 15-2, which will probably be the price of the odds for West Ham to beat Chelsea away. Of the 24 times these sides have met at Chelsea since 2000, the home side has won 17 games, with West Ham winning twice. Chelsea are W5 D1 L1 v current bottom six sides, while West Ham are D1 L5 v current top six sides. Chelsea are W5 D3 L1 v London sides, and West Ham are a significantly worse W1 L6.

Verdict: West Ham need their recent good run to continue, but playing Chelsea with new manager bounce won’t help.

Prediction: Chelsea 3 West Ham 2

SATURDAY 8PM – LIVERPOOL v NEWCASTLE

Stats: Liverpool haven’t lost to Newcastle since 2015 (W13 D5). Liverpool haven’t lost at home to Newcastle since 1995 (W24 D5). Five goals or more have been scored in Liverpool v Newcastle in three of the last four games between these sides. Newcastle are W1 D2 L4 v current top six sides.

Verdict: A shame Isak won’t be playing.

Prediction: Liverpool 3 Newcastle 2

SUNDAY 2PM – MAN UTD v FULHAM

Stats: Going back to 2010, Fulham have beaten Man Utd just once, in 2024. Since 2010, Fulham’s record v Man Utd is W1 D4 L16. Overall, Fulham’s record v Man Utd at Old Trafford is W3 D6 L36. Fulham’s record v current top six sides is W1 D2 L4 but have lost both away games. Man Utd are W1 D1 L1 v London clubs at home. Fulham (D2 L2) are winless on a Sunday this season, Man Utd are W3 D2 L3 on a Sunday, but have lost their only Sunday home game.

Verdict: Box ticked for beating top two sides in consecutive weeks, now can they throw it all away by losing at home to (travelling very well) Fulham team.

Prediction: Man Utd 1 Fulham 1

SUNDAY 2PMNOTTINGHAM FOREST v CRYSTAL PALACE

Stats: Five of the last six games, and seven of the last nine games between Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace have ended up draws. Nottingham Forest has a good record v London clubs this season with W4 D2 L4. Nottingham Forest have a superior record on a Sunday this season, with W4 D1 L4, Crystal Palace’s Sunday record is W2 D3 L7.

Verdict: A loss here makes a relegation scrap very real for Crystal Palace. A game neither team wants to lose. Like most games.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1 Crystal Palace 1

SUNDAY 2PM ASTON VILLA v BRENTFORD

Stats: Aston Villa have never lost at home to Brentford (W4 D7). Aston Villa have an outstanding record on a Sunday this season with W10 D1 L2, Brentford are W2 D1 L3. Brentford have lost both of their two away games v current top six sides.

Verdict: The neutral wants Aston Villa to win and make it a title fight.

Prediction: Aston Villa 3 Brentford 0

SUNDAY 4:30PM TOTTENHAM v MAN CITY

Stats: Man City have won their last two league games at Spurs. Tottenham have won their last four home games on a Sunday though. Tottenham are second worst for points-per-game at home this season, and fourth worst for home expected goals. Tottenham (D1 L2) haven’t beaten a big six club at home this season, and Man City haven’t beaten a big six club away from home (D1 L1).

Verdict: Will Man City provide the manager-sacking home loss they crave?

Prediction: Spurs 0 Man City 2

MONDAY 8PM – SUNDERLAND v BURNLEY

Stats: The last 11 games between these sides at Sunderland ended W6 D4 L1 for Sunderland. This game will be the first meeting between these sides on a Monday since 1979. Sunderland hold a decent W4 D2 L2 v current bottom six sides. They are unbeaten v bottom six sides at home (W3 D1). Burnley are 2/2 v fellow promoted sides this season.

Verdict: What’s this Saturday 3pm special doing on a Monday?

Prediction: Sunderland 1 Burnley 1

The Park Cricketer – The Australia Day Cricket Fight

0
EVERYDAY NEWS - The Australia Day Cricket Fight

A park cricketer has left his club after a massive fight.

Adam is a right arm leg spinner for the Norman Park sixth grade Sub-District side and  joined them two years ago.

While his team has been dogged by in-fighting and regular drama, Adam has persisted with them as he loves playing cricket.

But that changed after a message in their Messenger group chat kicked off on Australia Day.

“One of my ‘true blue Aussie’ teammates posted ‘I hope everyone’s celebrating AUSTRALIA DAY and not ignoring it like a silly woke person!”

Adam chooses not to celebrate the day and decided not to join in while his teammates gave updates on their Australia Day parties, photos of them wearing garish clothes with the Australian flag on them, and videos of them singing along (badly) to various songs from Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, and Midnight Oil.

It wasn’t until he was tagged in a post asking about his day that he decided to participate: “I’m glad you’re all having fun, but I choose not to celebrate Australia Day as it’s way too problematic and I can’t celebrate it with a clear conscience.”

But Adam was unprepared for the wave of abuse that followed.

“My phone was blowing up to the point I had to mute the group and went out to see a movie to forget about it and clear my head. I knew this was going to end badly if I engaged with their racist and ‘un-woke’ nonsense.”

After getting back home that evening, Adam went back to the group to another 50 unread messages, with a lot of teammates abusing him for not responding.

Adam decided enough was enough and posted one last message: “I decided to go out as I didn’t want to engage in your nonsense! I’ve had a decent time playing cricket with you boys, but I’ve seen your true nature today and I think it’s best if I leave the club and never speak with any of you again! Good luck for the rest of the season.”

With that, Adam left the group, unfriended and blocked all his teammates on Facebook, and deleted their phone numbers.

“It was probably a good thing as there was so much drama in this team and I was getting sick of it. I was thinking about leaving at the end of the season anyway. But I can’t play another second with those racist d***heads! Not after today.”

Still wanting to play cricket, Adam spent the evening researching new clubs before finding a local indoor sports centre that has Monday night leagues. He emailed the main contact on the website and arranged to turn up as a fill-in when the season resumes in February, with the promise that he’ll get a game most weeks before finding a permanent team.

“I play indoor cricket a bit as a teenager and I enjoyed it. This could be fun. And it’s only a short drive. No more massive road trips trapped in my ex-teammates’ crappy cars.”

EVERYDAY NEWS – The Comeback Tour

0

A veteran Australian rock band has reunited – to positive feedback so far.

Horses Love Humans was one of the biggest Australian bands from 1989 to 2003, releasing six albums, three live albums/DVD, and were compared to other veteran rock bands like Cold Chisel, Bon Jovi, and Aerosmith.

The band were happy to drop out of the limelight after splitting in 2003, until they attended a mutual friend’s wedding in 2024.

“We hadn’t seen each other for ages and was surprised how easily the old rhythm returned,” said lead signer David Lemons. “We left on good terms but naturally drifted towards our families and other commitments, so we all lost touch.”

“But the real spark came when the cover band played. They weren’t very good, so we started singing along at our table and coming up with different ideas to make the crappy songs better. There was a spark there and we all felt it.”

Horses have spent the last year jamming in secret, being careful not to let anyone know of their intentions to reunite.

“We didn’t want to tell anyone as we wanted to see how we’d go after 20 years. If it didn’t work out, then we’d go our different ways again and it wouldn’t be a big deal. But the more we practiced, the more comfortable we felt. After a few months, we thought we could make a go of this.”

To test the waters, Lemons released a three-song Horses EP through his social media accounts.

“I was worried that the new songs would sink, but the EP did well.”

Horses officially announced their return in late 2025, starting with a short tour of regional Australia.

And the buzz has been good so far.

To quote a review of their late December show in Newcastle: “It was clear from the opening songs that this wasn’t a cynical reunion cash grab. The chemistry was still there between the five of them, Lemons still sounded like we remembered, the EP songs were well-received, and the fans danced to all the classics.”

Lemons wanted to reward their fans from regional Australia with the first tour, but is already planning a major stadium tour later this year.

“We’re starting to get excited. Once we get the bigger tour done, we’ll get cracking on a new album and promote that as we head into summer.”

Top Five Friday | Five Distinctive F1 Liveries

0

It’s Friday, or Fri-yay in some parts of the corporate world, and that means a list of questionable quality and theme to bolster the quality of content here at The Gurgler for later in the week. In this edition we offer some F1 inspired top-fivery, with our look at Distinctive F1 Liveries.

Given we are currently in the middle of the launching period of 2026 F1 cars, it is a convenient bit of timing and inspiration to have a look back at some of the most distinctive F1 Liveries from history.

Distinctive F1 liveries doesn’t necessarily mean all good or all bad, just ones that quickly came to mind when assembling this Top Five Friday list.

So enjoy a taste of yesterday year, before the latest fashion in F1 is totally revealed.

Five Distinctive F1 Liveries

1980’s-1990’s MARLBORO McLAREN

You can’t have this livery anymore due to bans on cigarette advertising, which is a shame, because it’s distinctive and memorable. It also helped that it was more often than not a winner too.

Throwing in for interest’s sake here is the 1986 McLaren which they turned yellow for a race for Keke Rosberg and for Marlboro Lights. Figures though, as Rosberg was a noted smoker. Famously stubbing out a cigarette moments before jumping in a car and setting the fastest qualifying lap that stood for over a decade.

Distinctive F1 Liveries - McLaren

1970’s-1980’s JOHN PLAYER SPECIAL LOTUS

Another from the cigarette era, but another distinctive winner.

Cars have turned black in recent years to save weight on paint, or some try to imitate this classic, but none have done it so well.

But even Lotus didn’t appreciate the beauty dropping the famous black and gold for a few seasons in the early 1980’s, some of which led to some awful liveries too.

1997 JORDAN F1

Yellow F1 cars are usually distinctive, and awful, but this 1997 Jordan was distinctive and had a feature not really seen in F1 before.

The 1997 Jordan was yet another cigarette sponsored vehicle, most of them were in the gloriously smokey 1990’s, but the first car of the sponsorship in 1996 was a very bland, gold coloured car which better represented the cigarette company but also was more in line with a luxury taxi company than F1.

For 1997 not only did the car turn a bright yellow, but it was turned into a deadly snake, with the coolest nosecone in F1 history.

Sadly they changed to a hornet in 1998, which wasn’t quite as good, but they did win their first race that first season and almost a Championship in the second.

1985 TOLEMAN / 1986 BENETTON

In 1985 the Benetton clothing company took on the sponsorship of the Toleman team, a team the year before rookie Ayrton Senna set the world on fire with. But Benetton didn’t really get much bang early that season as they didn’t make the first three races as they had no tyres. When they did they launched a livery that featured random country’s flags all over it, under the United Colours of Benetton banner.

Benetton took it further the next year by buying the Toleman team and renaming it Benetton and coming up with an even more distinctive colour scheme. They also won their first race as a team in 1986 with Gerhard Berger.

2007 HONDA

Most of the distinctive F1 cars so far have been good, so we had to offer up one terrible effort, and the worst we could think of was the 2007 Honda.

Honda, which used to be BAR, which used to be Tyrrell, won their first race in a long time in 2006 with Jenson Button, and had been on an upward curve for the past few seasons, so entered 2007 with a bit of confidence.

Then they unveiled the 2007 paint job with a giant earth on the engine cover and not much else. The idea was admirable, calling out environmental concerns etc, but the end result was awful, one of the worst.

Football Draws Predictions – Best of the Week

England » League One – 2025/2026 » Stevenage-Mansfield

Kick off:15:00 Sat, 24-Jan-26

A game where three of the last six meetings ended in a draw, including the last two games. Two of the last three games at Stevenage were equal too. As well as a draw, Under 2.5 goals is a big chance, with the last six ending either 0-0, 1-0 or 1-1. Stevenage have drawn five of their 11 home games this season, and those five draws have come in the last six home games. Mansfield are winless in their last four away games, with a draw at the start of that run, the only point gained.

Football Draws Predictions – Best of the Rest

England » League One – 2025/2026 » Plymouth-Luton

Kick off:12:30 Sat, 24-Jan-26

Three of the last six games between these sides ended in a draw. Plymouth drew their second last home game. Interestingly, Plymouth’s home form is the second worst in League One. Luton are winless in their last four away games, and only one of those was a draw. So they might settle for another.

England » League Two – 2025/2026 » Cambridge U-Tranmere

Kick off:15:00 Sat, 24-Jan-26

What more do you need than the last four games between these sides ended in a draw. Three 0-0 draws and one 1-1.

England » Premier League – 2025/2026 » Bournemouth-Liverpool

Kick off:17:30 Sat, 24-Jan-26

After not drawing any of their first 13 games this season, Liverpool have drawn six of the next nine. That includes drawing their last four games. Bournemouth were keeping pace with Liverpool for a while, but they have won just one of their last 13 games, and are sliding towards the bottom few. Bournemouth have drawn more than they have won or lost this season. There’s plenty of draws at home recently too for Bournemouth.

England » Premier League – 2025/2026 » Everton-Leeds

Kick off:20:00 Mon, 26-Jan-26

Everton had a last start draw at home, their best result in the last three there. Leeds are winless away from home in their last eight games, albeit against some big teams. Three of their last four away games were draws.

England » Championship – 2025/2026 » Millwall-Charlton

Kick off:12:30 Sat, 24-Jan-26

The last two games between these sides ended in a draw, and they were score draws. The last H2H was a friendly, which might explain the 2-2 score line. Charlton are winless in their last eight away games, with two draws in the last four away games.

Spain » LaLiga – 2025/2026 » Levante-Elche

Kick off:20:00 Fri, 23-Jan-26

The last game between these sides at Levante was a draw. Three of the last six there were draws too. Elche are on a run of two draws, so a third wouldn’t surprise. Being winless away this season from nine games (D4 L5) a draw wouldn’t be a bad result for Elche. Levante have drawn their last two home games.

Germany » Bundesliga – 2025/2026 » Union Berlin-Borussia Dortmund

Kick off:17:30 Sat, 24-Jan-26

These teams have never drawn in the league from 13 previous encounters. But Union Berlin have drawn their last three games. And Dortmund have drawn their last two away. So that lack of draw is about to be broken.

Italy » Serie A – 2025/2026 » Genoa-Bologna

Kick off:14:00 Sun, 25-Jan-26

The last game between these sides ended 2-2, which helps. Genoa have drawn three of their last four games. Bologna have drawn two of their last four away.

EVERYDAY NEWS – The Unusual Pop Album

EVERYDAY NEWS - The Unusual Pop Album

An introverted pop singer’s new album is a love letter to being alone.

Kate Dawson, who has released three albums since 2019, has decided to change perceptions about spending time by yourself.

“I’m sick of the majority of pop and rock songs telling people that being alone is a bad thing! And being lonely doesn’t mean you’re miserable.”

Titled Me Time! the lead single “The difference between being ‘alone’ and ‘lonely'” has been doing well on Spotify and other streaming services. For the music video (which is approaching 500,000 views on YouTube), Dawson set up multiple cameras at home to document her perfect “innie day”.

“Most pop singers have to be extroverted to get through the months of touring and the media commitments and I’ve learnt to wear that mask when I need to. But I know this album will show my fans the real me!”

Me Time! has 10 songs all about the joy of being alone, with other songs including: “A date with myself”, “Sleeping alone”, and “I can do this myself”.

As part of the album campaign, Dawson has spoken how she dealt with her natural introversion while trying to build a career.

“I was never going to compete with the popular and bubbly girls at school, and that introversion helped as I ignored parties to write songs in my room on weekends. I had naturally long hair, so I used to hide behind that when I would sing. If I concentrated on singing and playing the guitar, I felt safe and didn’t notice all the people looking at me.”

Though dealing with the media circus after her debut album was a challenge.

“Doing the same type of interviews over and over was torture and I used to get snappy at the end of a long day as my social battery ran out. But my wonderful manager recognised this and knew when to pull the pin, let me recharge, and come back tomorrow.”

Dawson hopes that revealing her introvert’s journey will encourage her fans to do the same.

“I’ve already had some lovely messages from fans who said they finally felt understood after listening to the ‘The difference…’ That means the world to me and hopefully more and more of my fans open up and live how they want to, not how an extroverted-biased society expects them to.”

Verdict: At least Brentford are interesting.

Prediction: Brentford 3 Nottingham Forest 0

SUN 4:30PM – ARSENAL v MAN UTD

Stats: Arsenal (W5 D1) are unbeaten in their last six league games v Man Utd. That record is slightly better for last home games (W6 D1). And W5 D1 for home games on a Sunday.
