It was the best of NRL Round 4 and the very blurst of the NRL Round 4, and who is best qualified to sort the lamb from the mutton? We are of course, having somehow watched every minute of every game this weekend, and our weekly review is here for the very of you that are interested.
As ever we have our debatable NRL Round 4 Team of the Week, point out the things that made us love Rugby League this weekend, some things that gave us the irits, some Supercoach lessons, plus a few choice things from each game.
Way too much information? Never fear, we won’t go into too much details. We’ve watched all the games so you didn’t have to. Feel free to use our review as the dot point plan for those workplace discussions over the coming week.

Who were the star performers this weekend, worthy of a spot in our Team of Week. Check out our wonderful list below. It is hard some weeks with so many great performances in the same positions, but we manage to cram in the best 13 by positions, and a bench of four of the best after that.

PEACHES OF THE WEEK
As good as our Team of the Week is, some were just a little better and deserve more Player of the Year points. So here are our top 5 players for the weekend.
5 – James Maloney – no Nathan Cleary proved no problem for Penrith as Maloney stepped up and gave a performance that locals expected from their number 7.
4 – Tom Trbojevic – had 100+ Supercoach points by half time, and destroyed Raiders.
3 – Blake Green – took over in Shaun Johnson’s absence and NZ spanked Roosters in the process.
2 – Benji Marshall – still continues to turn back the clock.
1 – Phillip Sami – three tries against Broncos at Suncorp and architect of a rare winger to winger cross field kick try.
TEAM OF THE YEAR – THE MARVELLOUS MAVIN MEDAL
We will keep score and unveil the leaderboard from Round 6 onwards. Each player of the week gets two points, and the Top 5 get extras. Talk about sizzle…..

OUR FAVOURITE THINGS OF THE WEEK
Just a few of our favourite things….unlike whiskers on kittens.
The surprise of Titans performance against the Broncos, showing the competition means any team can beat any team on a given day.
The finish to the Rabbitohs v Bulldogs game. Great for a Rabbitohs supporter we suppose. Probably not the greatest game before then.
5 days of rugby league spread across the Easter weekend.
WORST OF THINGS FROM NRL Round 4
Penalties. So many penalties. Sure they were all justified, but it made for some painful viewing.
Sharks v Storm – became unwatchable in the end.
Parramatta Eels. At least they scored some second half points.
