2026 NRL Round 9 Bets & Best Bets
Here is our one betting special for every game this weekend.
Odds courtesy of Sportsbet and correct at time of use.
FRIDAY 6PM – BULLDOGS v NORTH QUEENSLAND @ Accor Stadium
BEST BET: Under 51.5 Points @ $1.90
You shouldn’t average an average, but if you do average the averages for points scored by the Bulldogs on a Friday, v Qld teams, at home and at night it comes to 17 points. North Queensland’s last ten away games v Sydney teams has seen an average of 19 points scored. Even allowing for excitement, that should still keep the total under 51.5 points.
FRIDAY 8PM – DOLPHINS v MELBOURNE @ Suncorp Stadium
BEST BET: Melbourne to win the First Half @ $2.00
Neither of these teams have won a game since Round 3, so picking a winner feels hard to do and the Dolphins are favourites, for now. Even with their recent six game losing streak, the Storm are still W5 L3 for first half results this season, while the Dolphins are W2 L5. So go with the Storm comeback, for a half a game. It’s either that or Ray Stone scoring anytime.
SATRUDAY 3PM – GOLD COAST v CANBERRA
BEST BET: Canberra to win @ $1.68
Gold Coast have a terrible record v Canberra – Canberra have won six in a row v Gold Coast and 11 of the last 12 matches and for the Titans it is five straight losses as the home side to Canberra too, plus five straight losses as the home side to Canberra on a Saturday as well. Add to all that, the Titans lost all three games after the bye last weekend.
SATURDAY 5:30PM – PARRAMATTA v WAHS
BEST BET: Over 49.5 Points @ $1.60
Four of the last five home games for the Eels have seen 50 or more points. The last five away games for the Warriors have also seen 50 points or more. So surely we will see 50 points, and beyond.
SATURDAY 7:30PM – ROOSTERS v BRISBANE
BEST BET: Alternative Line – Broncos +8.5 start @ $1.77
If the Broncos can win last weekend without their injured and suspended, then they should be even better with players returning. They’ll need to be after the Roosters big Anzac Day win. And the Broncos have a few stats on their side, Brisbane have won the last two games v Roosters at the Sydney Football Stadium. And the last two Saturday games. Brisbane are on a run of six straight wins on a Saturday and are one of two sides in the NRL that are unbeaten away from home this season. But we’re still chicken-ing out and taking a points start bet.
SUNDAY 2PM – NEWCASTLE v SOUTH SYDNEY
BEST BET: South Sydney to win @ $1.50
South’s drought-breaking Melbourne win last weekend can easily turn into a huge momentum and confidence boost for the Rabbitohs. Newcastle’s underwhelming stats at home turns the wheel slightly more towards Souths – Newcastle have won just one of their last six games on a Sunday at McDonald Jones Stadium. Newcastle have won two of their last 14 games at McDonald Jones Stadium on any day.
SUNDAY 4PM – CRONULLA v WESTS TIGERS
BEST BET: Cronulla to win @ $1.64
Cronulla have won their last five games at Shark Park v Wests Tigers and have won eight games straight at Shark Park on a Sunday. Over 52.5 points might not be too bad either, Cronulla are averaging 35 points on a Sunday and the Wests Tigers 42 on a Sunday.
SUNDAY 6:15PM – PENRITH v MANLY @ CommBank Stadium
BEST BET: Total Match Points Over 50.5 @ $1.90
Penrith winning seems an obvious bet, but maybe not with Manly’s run of form under Kieran Foran, and they are on a run of four straight away wins. So looking elsewhere for a wager just in case, Penrith are averaging 41 points per game at home this season. Manly are averaging 39 points away this season. Surely that means points galore or at least cover the overs.
