Bulldogs pull off a stunning upset, just when we all thought Penrith wouldn’t win a game. Bulldogs were in the Panthers face and up for this game all night, and for once Penrith had no answers. Galvin played a game close to worthy of the fanfare, and Kikau kik-d arse. Both sides will lose a few key players for a while after Casey McLean’s high hit on Max King.

- Bulldogs have won their last three Thursday games, including two wins against Penrith.
- It was only a second loss in 11 games for Penrith v Bulldogs.
- Penrith have won just one of their last eight Thursday games. Three losses are to the Bulldogs.

A tale of two coaches. The very inexperienced Kieran Foran turning Manly’s fortunes around with a second win as interim coach from as many games. Compared to the vastly experienced Shane Flanagan who would have already been sacked if not for his mates in the media. Manly weren’t as good as last weekend’s Easter-ruining flogging of the Dolphins, but they didn’t have to be.

What a game, once again. Busted arse Broncos (from injuries) nearly made it over the line, and looked home and hosed in the second half until a late Cowboys fightback, and the Cowboys found a match winner in the corner after they traded field goals.

A game with lots of twists and turns. It looked done and dusted at half time, but then Souths surged, dropped and surged again, scoring 30 second half points but falling just short of victory. A sensational length of the field try to Kaeo Weekes broke Souths’ momentum in the second half. It gave Canberra a second win of the season. Souths might start to question why they takes games to Perth. The rabbitohs lost Jye Gray as well with a suspected shoulder injury.

The Roosters overpower the Sharks in the second half to win the second of the Perth double header, and sneak into the top eight at the expense of the Sharks. Cronulla are again unable to string more than two results in a run this season, despite looking impressive in the first half and last weekend v Wahs.

- The win for Roosters means the unbeaten teams in Perth is down to four, Cronulla were one of them prior to this game.
- Away from Shark Park Roosters have won five of the last six.

Melbourne lose their fourth game in a row as Craig Bellamy loses his temper. With the loss comes a rare stay outside the top eight for the Storm. It also ends a run of 17 straight wins v Warriors and 11 home games. Great news for the Wahs who stopped a run of two losses, and they are temporarily up to second on the ladder.

- It’s the fourth time in the last 11 games for Melbourne that they have gone scoreless in the second half.
- Warriors have ended a run of 17 losses and 11 away losses to Melbourne.
- Melbourne haven’t lost four in a row since July 2022.
- Warriors have won their last three Saturday away games and seven of their last nine.
- The H2H between the Warriors and Melbourne on a Saturday is now 8-8.

The upsets keep coming in Round 6 as Sunday kicks off with not only a win for the Gold Coast away in Sydney but a huge one. A promising recovery two game winning run from a premiership-ending loss to Melbourne in Round 1 is now a trio of losses. But great for the Titans, it’s a rare big score.

- It’s only the second time the Titans have scored 50 points or more. The only other time was June last season when they won 66-6 v Warriors.

The unlikeliest of top four clash ends up with the Wests Tigers in second, as they give the Knights a touch-up at a home ground that hasn’t been the happiest of hunting grounds previously. Benji Marshall is adding master coach to his previous title of star players, and one of rugby leagues’ nicest guys. Done it with a solid plan of keeping good juniors for a change, attracting great Penrith players and taking the most underappreciated players from other clubs. Few would begrudge the Tigers some success.

- Wests Tigers win broke a run of four home losses to Newcastle.
- At Campbelltown, since 2021 The Tigers have now won three of 17 games there, with the most recent run breaking a current losing streak of five games.
- It was only their second win in ten Sunday games at Campbelltown.
