A local cat has fallen in love with their new present: an Officeworks paper bag.
Misty has been the beloved and luxurited housecat of her two favourite humans for the past three years.
But last Saturday was the best day of her life when she received her special present.
“The humans had gone out and I was busy dozing in my favourite sunny spot near the window: it’s warm enough to soothe me but not so hot that it’s uncomfortable,” she said (and yes, Everyday News staff can talk to animals.).
“The humans came home, pulled something long and box-y out, and put the paper bag on the kitchen table. They were so busy playing with their box that they didn’t notice me inspect the new bag. And it was love at first sight! I don’t know how to explain it so humans will understand, but the texture, feel, and weight were perfect! I settled down for a nap and was out for five hours! Most human paper bags are too flimsy and you’re lucky to get one decent nap on them before they fall apart. I was so happy that I had another five-hour nap on Sunday. And it was just as good! I’ve made sure to rub my scent all over the bag so my sisters know it’s mine and nobody else’s!”
Adam, one of Misty’s humans, was surprised how much she loved the bag.
“I usually like to get rid of bags as soon as possible, but he didn’t have the heart to get rid of it after seeing how much Misty loved it. And she’s been napping on it every since. I guess we have to keep it now.”
Sarah, Adam’s wife and Misty’s second human, has spent the last few days taking videos of Mitsy sleeping on the bag, being careful not to wake her.
“I’ve been sharing them on Tik Tok and Insta and my views are through the roof! Everyone loves an adorable cat video!”
