An video gamer has abandoned a popular MMORPG game after a nightmare online experience.
After buying the Fantasy Guilds PC game for his birthday last month, Peter was getting bored of the repetitive solo campaign and decided to join a random online campaign. And regretted it immediately.
“I struggled to keep up with the group and the ‘Git Gud’ gatekeepers ripped into me!” said Peter, “I haven’t been abused that much since my days playing junior rugby league.”
Peter gave up after 10 minutes, deleted his account, and went to his local video game store to trade the game in for a retro puzzle-platformer and a cricket management sim game.
“I don’t want to waste my time getting yelled at by people because I’m not good enough at a video game. I had my fill of getting yelled at by strangers when I worked in call centres. Unlike some of the people I played with, I don’t think I’m a budding Esports champion. I play for fun and to relax.”
