We did this for our Round 3 Stats and Results summary, but well worth dead-horse flogging here again.
HOW DO TEAMS END UP THAT WIN/LOSE ALL THEIR FIRST THREE GAMES?
Wondering if you can book Grand Final tickets after starting the season 3 and 0? And at the other end, is your season over if you lose the first three games?
Here to answer that and more are the following stats.
- 22 teams have won all three games to start the season since 2013
- The average ladder position at the end of the season is 5.0.
- 3 have gone on to win the competition
- 8 teams have made the top four
- 8 teams have made the top eight
- 2 teams have missed the finals
- 1 has finished last.
24 teams have lost all three games to start the season since 2013
-
- The average ladder position at the end of the season is 12.3
- One team has actually won the competition
- One team has made the top four
- Two teams made the top eight
- 14 teams have missed the finals
- 6 have finished last.
In summary, you may get lucky, but in general if your team loses the first three games you can book non rugby league holidays in September. And a 3-0 start will usually end up in finals action.

This website has complained endlessly about the bias of Sunday afternoon games being given to Sydney teams to make Channel Nein (in Sydney) happy.
So why not see who out of all the Sydney teams playing Sydney teams on a Sunday have the best win %.
