The final weekend of the regular NRL season has been played and all the winners and losers of 2024 have been decided. Talking about winners, we’ll let the stats do the talking and separate the Wheat/Chaff to present the 2025 NRL Round 1 Team of the Week & Player Stats.
First we have our Team of the Week, which takes some of the key player stats from the weekend and using various scoring methods come up with the best players in their positions from the latest round of the NRL.
Then there’s additional player stats from this weekend and the season that is.

We’ve used the stats for each position and picked the best starting 13 players from the most recent round, the stats and points assigned are explained at the end.
On top of the best starting 13, we also include the best four interchange players of the week. Seeing who has provided maximum impact from the bench.

2025 NRL Round 1 Player Stats
Wingers claimed 4/8 of the first tries this weekend and 6/8 of the last tries scored.
Dylan Edwards passed 200 run metres in the Round 1 clash v Cronulla, he did for 16 of the 20 games he played in 2024.
The move to prop didn’t slow Patrick Carrigan down, running more metres than Reece Walsh and topping the Post Contact Metres as well.
Man Mountain Xavier Willison made up a nice trio of Broncos props with third best Post Contact Metres from the bench.
Newcastle’s James Schiller topped the week for Tackle Breaks with 11.
The Hammer ran for 216 metres, it was only the seventh time since joining the Dolphins that he has run for over 200 metres.
It was Campbell Graham’s best match total for Post Contact Metres and second best total for all Run Metres. A great return from injury.
Jason Saab’s five Line Breaks is an equal single match record for a player for our records going back to 2022.
