A 40-year-old man has been left disappointed after rewatching of one of his favourite ‘90s movies.
Adam used to be a big fan of the 1996 erotic-action movie Madam Stiletto. Based on a long-forgotten comic book, Madam Stiletto was about a female bounty hunter who will do whatever it takes to get her payday. The star of the film was ‘90s soap opera actress/sex symbol Yasmine Anderson, whose long brunette hair, ample bosom, and fit body made her the object of desire for many ‘90s teenage boys and young men.
“I was watching a documentary about Yasmine recently and she said she struggled with the fallout from the movie’s failure, as it was expected to be her breakthrough role,” said Adam. “I remember loving it as a teenager, so I was curious to see why it bombed.”
Though Adam could quickly see why the movie flopped.
“Yeah, it’s pretty shit. The opening scene is Madam Stiletto doing a striptease to a metal song and it goes downhill from there. The softcore erotica blatantly cashes in on Yasmine’s sex appeal, the acting is abysmal, the plot is bare bones, and the dialogue is laughable. There’s a few cool fight scenes though,” said Adam. “Obviously teenage me was too blinded by my love for Yasmine to notice how horrible this movie was. Not surprisingly, she stuck to TV shows and animated roles after this.”
