BARELY INTERESTING STATS
If you look at expected goals since April 1 Newcastle have a higher xG than Man City.
Newcastle have lost their last three to Man City without scoring a goal.
Newcastle (W1 D1) are undefeated on a Friday v Man CIty.
Newcastle’s eight points at home to top six this season is the second best points haul at home. Liverpool are top with ten at home to the big six. Southampton are also on eight points.

Burnley are currently on a winless run at home of eight games, which is the equal second longest for the season along with Liverpool, Sheffield Utd and Fulham. The record for the season belongs to Brighton. For now.
Burnley are also the only team without a home win in their last six. Sheffield United have only scored two goals compared with Burnley’s five in their last six home games, yet Sheffield United have two wins.
Only Leeds Utd and Man City have a 100% record against a bottom six side away this season (four games each – bottom six side at time of playing not current position)

Southampton (W3 D5) are unbeaten in their last eight games v Fulham at home. The Saints have lost just one of their last 22 home clashes with Fulham going back to 1937. And just one of 20 home matches on a Saturday (all time).
If the table was recalculated from January 1 Fulham would still be 18th. Southampton would be last.

BARELY INTERESTING STATS
The last four games between these sides have been score draws.
Only the top three teams have conceded fewer goals than Brighton since January.
Scoring goals is the issue for Brighton who are 13 goals behind their expected goals. They are also 20 points behind their expected points total. If you added the difference of those expected points to their current tally, Brighton would have the second best home record and be lying sixth overall.
West Ham have won just two of 12 matches at Brighton and one of their last nine visits.

Crystal Palace have the second worst expected goals total this season and are just one expected goal ahead of Sheffield Utd.

Harry Kane has scored three more goals than Sheffield Utd, with Son just one goal behind the Blades. Combined they have scored more than seven other teams.
Only Man CIty, the two Liverpool clubs and Chelsea have won more games v London teams this season than Wolves.
Only three teams this season have yet to beat a top six side. Two of them are playing each other in this game and Crystal Palace are the other. (Top Six side at time of playing not current top six)
Wolves have won the last two matches at Spurs scoring three goals both times, and lost just once at Spurs in their last five clashes.
There has been 16 goals scored in the four matches between .these sides on a Sunday.

Liverpool’s recent record v West Brom is terrible (D3 L1) and have only won three of the past 11 clashes.
Liverpool have a winning strike rate of just 30% this season against bottom six clubs – both home and away.
Four of the last five games between these sides on a Sunday have been draws. Liverpool won the other.
If the seasons points were allocated just from Big Sam’s appointment date West Brom would still be in the bottom three, albeit on equal points with Fulham who would be safe on goal difference.
Liverpool have twice as many shots as West Brom, but the Baggies goal conversion from shots on target is better.
Despite losing 3-1 to Arsenal, West Brom had a higher expected goals by 1.83 to 1.07.
