2026 Monaco F1 Grand Prix Prix-view – Race Potential Rating

The Gurgler does like to use some obscure drivers in our Race previews and report, so who better to use than Teo Fabi to determine a race rating system.
So before each race we give a rating out of ten for four key category that are loosely based on each letter of Teo Fabi’s surname. Don’t know who Teo Fabi is, you should.
FAST? 4 / 10 – So it’s one of the slowest Grands Prix, but they seem so much faster when driving so close to barriers, in and out of dangerously lit tunnels, and nearby so water the other side of the low barriers.
ACTION? 8 / 10 – Monaco being the famous tight street track usually means action, and you’d think it would be a 10/10 easy. But then we only remember the good races and forget they occasionally the races become a boring procession, like last season when the mandatory two tyre stops was exploited for team gains, or an early Safety Car turns the race into Curling-pace motor racing.
BIG HISTORY? – 10 / 10 – The most famous of F1 races for a long time, and the first race was held in 1950, so plenty of history. So many great races, and most of the great have had success here, but also can throw up a surprise one-off winner too,
INCLEMENT WEATHER? – 3 /10 – The Weather Channel says not much chance of rain over the race weekend. But it’s Monaco and still might.
RACE POTENTIAL RATING 63% – In theory it should always be a great race. In theory.
