Another half arsed round of four NRL games and so another half arsed offering from us with our Alternative NRL Round 17 Tips for this weekend.

Each week we offer up some alternative NRL tips based on a new theme, and occasionally it will have nothing to do with rugby league. Just the way we like it. This week it is about rugby league but the latest off field drama. More on that below.

In addition to the tips are a whole bunch of barely interesting stats for the round of NRL ahead. Impress your neighbours, parcel delivery drivers, and fellow relatives by stealing them and sharing, but please do so whilst maintaining social distance.

Good luck with your Alternative NRL Round 17 Tips if you choose to use them.

NRL Round 17 Tips Alternative – Gurgler v Likelihood to Break Covid Curfew

METHOD TO THE MADNESS

Before we go any further we’d like to point out that this week’s alternative tips based on the likelihood of breaking Covid is based on the team’s mascot/nickname and not commentary on any of he team’s current player roster.

Of course this is inspired by the foolish party involving a lot Dragons players and prior to that the Bulldogs session (no the other kind), whose punishments meant they put out a side flogged 66-0 last weekend.

So how do we decide the Likelihood to Break Covid Curfew?

Well basically we get the mascots and compare which one would be more be more likely to break Covid curfew like the Dragons and Bulldogs. The team that is less likely to break Covid gets the tip because they are more professional and smarter for not doing anything to cost their careers and/or the NRL from continuing.

Explanation for this week’s tips are below with the alternative tips.

SEA EAGLES to beat Raiders
Given that Sea Eagles nests are usually high in a tree of on the edge of a cliff they are less likely to break curfew than a bunch of rowdy Vikings who are usually crammed together in boats waiting to plunder when they get ashore.

COWBOYS to beat Rabbitohs
Cowboys are often seen in movies as solitary figures, and usually in the middle of nowhere, in fact you could argue they invented social distancing, so they are very unlikely to hold anti-Covid Lockdown BBQs. Not so for Rabbitohs who are as famed for the breeding ability in the burrows as some footballers are in nightclubs.

ROOSTERS to beat Bulldogs
According to this article, dogs are one of the friendliest, most social animals there is out there and that the most social bird is the Swan, we’ll argue that Roosters are less likely to be social, and therefore break Covid lockdown.

SHARKS to beat Warriors
Since Sharks live underwater, it is very hard for them to break a Covid lockdown.
