The Own Goal – The EPL Rundown

WEST HAM v LIVERPOOL

Despite West Ham appearing to be much better away from home there is only 3 points in it (13 to 16) and they are unbeaten at home in their last 7 games. Liverpool couldn’t be more equal at home or away with 15 pts a piece and the exact same for and against of 11-11 both home and away.

GURGLER TIPS – WEST HAM to win

WEST BROM v STOKE CITY

A derby of Tony Pulis of old and new. Stoke are threatening to break into the top 6 under Mark Hughes after seeing off both Manchester sides recently. WBA are where you would expect a Pulis team – lower midfield but safe. Stoke have a better record away than at home.

GURGLER TIPS – STOKE to win

ARSENAL v NEWCASTLE

Newcastle won on their last trip to North London beating Tottenham, but beating Arsenal should be a different prospect. After Arsenal’s 4-0 loss to Southampton over Christmas who knows which side will turn up. Although Arsenal have won 6/7 at home and have only conceded 6 in 9 this season. Newcastle have scored just 5 times away in 9 games.

GURGLER TIPS – ARSENAL to win

LEICESTER v BOURNEMOUTH

Just a few years ago Leicester were on their way to winning the League 1 title and below them in League 2 Bournemouth were fighting a 17 point deduction to stay in the Football League. Fast forward and Leicester are at the sharp end of the EPL and Bournemouth have recently seen off Man Utd and Chelsea and some feel good football stories. Strange stat is Bournemouth’s three away wins have come against sides with blue as part of their main colours.

MAN UTD V SWANSEA

Manager Louis van Gaal is under pressure at Old Trafford and who better to play than Swansea, a team he has failed to beat so far with 3 wins from 3 for Swansea against van Gaal led United. Both of these are the two worst for goals scored last 6 – Man Utd ahead of Swansea 3 – 2.

GURGLER TIPS – UNDER 2.5 GOALS

NORWICH v SOUTHAMPTON

This game was a League One fixture in 2010, and both clubs have done very well since dropping to the third tier. Norwich went up in 2010 and up again to the EPL in 2011, a feat Southampton matched the from 2011. Norwich had a blip dropping back to Championship, but bounced back at the first attempt last year. Norwich also bounced back from a bad run of results to win last two of three including at old Trafford, and are unbeaten in four at home. Southampton have lost their last three on the road.

GURGLER TIPS – NORWICH to win

SUNDERLAND v ASTON VILLA

A relegation 6 pointer already and a loss here for Villa will just about confirm them as a Championship club next year. Both look like Championship sides already, and one could be a little cruel and say Villa would struggle to beat many Championship sides. If any. Sunderland have not beaten Aston Villa in their last 6 meetings and Villa have won their last three in Sunderland.

GURGLER TIPS – UNDER 2.5 GOALS

WATFORD v MAN CITY

Manchester City haven’t visited Vicarage Road since 2007 and that resulted in the same outcome as the one we predict for this weekend. Watford stand a chance too, Man City are 11th away from home this year and as bad as 17th if count the last 6 away games.

GURGLER TIPS – DRAW

CRYSTAL PALACE v CHELSEA

Some strange and useless stats for this game is that the end result between these sides has alternated between 2-1 and 1-0 over the last 6 games. Some of those wins have gone to Crystal Palace, who put an early nail in the Chelsea coffin with a win at Stamford Bridge. A rare and almost unthinkable season double is on offer, but taking the 5-1 smashing of Newcastle aside, Palace have scored 2 goals in 5 home games. The same amount Chelsea have scored away in the last five matches.

GURGLER TIPS – DRAW

EVERTON v SPURS

Spurs have the longest unbeaten away run with their only loss coming in the first round of the year. They look a good chance at Top 4 and welcome fresh blood in the Top 4, Goodison Park is the place for goals – 29 in total over the last 6 games.
