2025 Las Vegas F1 GP Prix-view

F1 heads back into Europe with all the drivers no doubt excited about the rush of classic races that await. Except for Jack Doohan presumably. Talking of dumping, our 2025 Emilia-Romagna F1 Grand Prix Prix-View has a fresh dumping of stats and opinion for the race weekend ahead.

The Gurgler’s 2025 Emilia-Romagna F1 Grand Prix Prix-View brings some thoughts on the track and race itself, a more than a few barely interesting stats.

Essentially a quick summary of what a casual F1 fan needs in the shortest possible time for your convenience.

2025 Emilia-Romagna F1 Grand Prix Prix-view – Race Potential Rating

F1 2023 - Fabi Preview Index Feature Image

The Gurgler does like to use some obscure drivers in our Race previews and report, so who better to use than Teo Fabi to determine a race rating system.

So before each race we give a rating out of ten for four key category that are loosely based on each letter of Teo Fabi’s surname. Don’t know who Teo Fabi is, you should.

FAST? 7 / 10 – Not as fast as it was in the early days, but still plenty fast. The Acque Minerali corner section is great to watch and I hope Martin Brundle is trackside during Practice to show it. Brundle’s P1 and P2 hideout crosses are among the best parts of the F1 coverage. And undulating track also helps to make it look fast.

ACTION? 3 / 10 – It’s an old fashioned track with mid 1990’s safety changes, which means there’s usually not much overtaking and action without rain. But it is a hard, technical track to drive, so there’s room for mistakes and action there. Especially with new Alpine driver Crasho Colapinto.

BIG HISTORY? – 9 / 10 – Been around since 1980 in F1 and has hosted the Italian, San Marino and Emilia-Romagna Grands Prix. The 1980’s turbo era saw Imola as an economy run where running out of petrol was a 50-50. There’s also been some big historic F1 events here. Like 1982 when just 14 cars started due to an F1 Civil War and the Ferrari drivers squabbled over the win, leaving one to declare he’ll never speak to his team mate ever again. And he didn’t because he was killed at the next race weekend. This is also the track where the Prost-Senna feud really kicked off in 1989. And of course the sad weekend of 1994 where F1 lost two drivers in consecutive days – Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna. More joyfully there were the nail-biting battle between peak Alonso and Michael Schumacher of 2005 and 2006.

INCLEMENT WEATHER? – 5 /10  The Weather Channel says there’s a 40% chance of a PM Thunderstorm. And Imola has a decent history of wet races. Just ask George Russell.

RACE POTENTIAL RATING 60%A classic old track that will need rain to make it exciting, but a home for team mate flashpoints, including one at McLaren. So they need to be aware.

2025 Emilia-Romagna F1 Grand Prix  Prix-view – Stats Summary

Want to know if your favourite driver for this weekend is a master of the track or the track is a master of them? Here then are some barely interesting facts and stats.

  • This is a track where brothers have both won at, and father and son have each taken a pole position.
  • Since 2001, no driver has won the race from lower than third position.
  • Four times since 2001, that fourth place on the grid has finished fourth.

NRL | 2025 NRL Round 11 Ratings and Late Mail

2025 nrl grand final ratings featured

Been too distracted by someone offering you a lunch of mushrooms? Or whether Dom Young is the Roosters or Newcastle’s problem? So do you need some last-minute NRL tipping advice? Want something else to blame when the tips go wrong? Well then saddle up for The Gurgler’s NRL Round 11 Ratings and Late Mail.

In a new additional to our stable of NRL stats and tipping products, we have used all the stats we have, smashed them against each other like atoms, and come up with a H2H rating.

It includes this year’s form with a bias because it is this year, but we don’t forget historic stats of the H2H against this week’s opponents, and the ground and day the teams are playing on. Then slice up the scores out of 100% between the two sides. The bigger the percentage, the more likely to win.

2025 NRL Round 11 Ratings

Here are the H2H ratings and winner for Magic Round of the NRL.

Our ratings picked a just half the winners last weekend but almost picked the Cowboys-Panthers draw. We’re one week closer to perfection. So don’t miss out.

2025 NRL Round 11 Ratings

2025 NRL Round 11 Late Mail

NEWCASTLE v PARRAMATTA

There was an upside to Parramatta’s loss last weekend, and they looked the better side for a lot of the game. Newcastle were only better for a half and that is debatable. Greg Marzhew is out for the Knights and Zac Lomax is in for the Eels tipping the ratings towards Parramatta. Moses will also want to be in Origin mode, so extra motivation coming.

BULLDOGS v ROOSTERS

Not sure if the best preparation for a game against the barnstorming competition leaders at a ground where your record isn’t great is to have a press conference bagging other clubs about a player you want to get rid of. Bulldogs are flying, not letting an ordinary first half stop them. A terrible recent H2H record v Roosters has the ratings swinging towards the Roosters in a classic form v history battle. Lindsay Collins looking for an Origin gig returning helps the Roosters.

DOLPHINS v WARRIORS

A home team classic so far with the away team losing all four matches. Outside of Magic Round, the Warriors have an ordinary record at Suncorp Stadium and away to Qld teams in general. Dolphins are W4 L1 at Suncorp on a Saturday, and welcome back Tom Gilbert and Jeremy Marshall-King. Even better, Ray Stone is named at lock. Warriors beware of the Tenderiser.

NORTH QUEENSLAND v MANLY

Manly have a great record in Townsville v North Queensland and throw in seven wins in a row v Qld sides on a Saturday. Although a lot of them were v North Qld. Halfbacks are a concern for both sides……the exciting Jaxon Purdue has replaced the luckless Jake Clifford. While it sounds like a lot people at Manly would like to see DCE replaced. Word on the street is he’s heading to the Roosters this season.

CRONULLA v MELBOURNE

Harry Grant looks set to return which is a huge boost for Melbourne. Not that they need too many boosts after their 64-0 thrashing of the Wests Tigers last weekend. Cronulla’s record v Melbourne isn’t great, they have won two of their last nine v Melbourne. It gets worse on a Saturday with just one win in 11 Saturday games v Melbourne. But Cronulla have won their last three at Shark Park v Storm. And Siosifa Talakai returning should be fun.

BRONCOS v ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA

Both these teams have terrible records on a Sunday. Throw in the Broncos have lost six in a row for day games. But the Broncos do welcome back Ezra Mam at the expense of a conveniently injured Ben Hunt. The hard working Jack de Belin returns for the Dragons and while he has less razzle dazzle than Ezra Mam, he’s a vital cog for the Dragons. Who do have the H2H recently with seven wins in the last nine games.

CANBERRA v GOLD COAST

No one expected the Gold Coast to win last weekend at Newcastle. No one expected the Raiders to lose at half time last weekend. One wonders if the energy and events of those two games will feed into this week’s game and the Gold Coast can enjoy a rare success v Canberra. Canberra have won ten of their last 11 v Gold Coast. Gold Coast have lost nine games in a row away on a Sunday in games outside of Qld and won just one of their last 17.

WESTS TIGERS v SOUTH SYDNEY

Souths have a great recent record v Wests Tigers – they have won eight of their last ten games v Wests Tigers and have won six in a row v Wests Tigers on a Sunday. But the Tigers got the win last season. Wests Tigers have a bad record at Campbelltown, and on a Sunday and against Sydney teams there, so this game is a bad one per stats. Alex Johnston also returns for Souths on the wing, and will be hoping for last weekend’s Latrell Mitchell to turn up, and with Origin within reach you can’t see why not.

NRL | The NRL Donkey’s 2025 NRL Round 11 Expert Tips and Opinion

1
NRL 2026 Season Predictions

Angrier than a room full of Fox League writers and NRL 360 hosts, slower than a Bunker decision, wetter than a rugby league ball in Townsville and spending more time in the Sin Bin than his contract allows, it’s time for the weekly Rugby League rant of The Gurgler’s NRL Donkey, who provides his NRL Donkey’s 2025 NRL Round 11 Expert Tips as well as offers an alternative, slightly unhinged view full of sass of the world of rugby league and beyond for another week.

The NRL Donkey’s 2025 NRL Round 11 Weekly Rant

Another weekend of NRL and another mountain out of a molehill with a bit of water sprayed on a rugby league ball. Last time I checked the games was at night and there would have been dew on it anyway. And water on the ball doesn’t explain the hopeless attempts to convert field goals.

I must say, I do prefer Golden Try to Golden Point. And I prefer both to a golden shower. I have heard other former rugby league stars beg to differ, but they are a strange bunch.

Golden Try means teams actually play rugby league for ten minutes, not turn it into the most European Football game of cat and mouse. Minus the falling over trying to get a penalty. Actually….hang on….Or the continual field goal attempts remind me of rugby union, so why would the NRL want to stoop as low as looking like rugby union. That game is only for private school educated gentlemen with their collars up and labels out for their beer, and non participation in wearing RM Williams shoes severely frowned upon. Golden Try also reduces the scope where The Bunker and/or referees can ruin an NRL game. Which is always a good thing.

Although you do have to wonder about the pointless exercise of having golden point if they settle for a draw anyway. Like Wayne Bennett I’m high on draws and low on golden point. And stereos.

Draws can be a magnificent result, this website has a whole article weekly devoted to Football draws. When the lazy football writing can be bothered. And especially when you follow a dud Premier League team like Ipswich Town who have only won four of 36 games this season. Or look at Southampton’s fantastic draw v Premier League juggernaut Manchester City. Not only did they not lose to one of Europe’s richest clubs, the one point also meant they are no longer the worst Premier League team in history. Their 12 points is now one higher than Derby County. So you can’t tell me a draw is not a result. Or indeed a great result.

Only glass half empty people don’t like draws. But I guess rugby league is full of those types. In fact, Fox League devote an hour of TV three nights a week to these type of people on NRL360. With the glass having a decreasing volume for people like Buzz. He probably doesn’t have any liquid in his glass. And he can shove the glass.

Back to the water on the ball. It would be much funnier if the trainers put other things on the ball. Like a healthy dose of Ghost Chilli rubbed on the ball. Vaseline would also be funny. Nutella would be funny as it would not only be sticky and difficult to deal with, but the obvious look of shit stain makes for hilarious TV. Perhaps instead of the game just being called a draw after 90 minutes the NRL could use some of these tactics to spice up Golden Point.

So if there is still a draw after 90 minutes the game is halted to give the players a break, but in the meantime trainers, coaches, doctors, players are allowed to put whatever cheating device they have in their kit bag on the ball. With no upper limit on amount or rankness of the additive. As long as the sponsors logos are still visible. And teams are allowed to continue doing so in every break of play until someone wins the game.

And for something as equal as a draw, here are the NRL Round 11 Expert Tips.

The NRL Donkey’s 2025 NRL Round 11 Expert Tips

NEWCASTLE v PARRAMATTA

The two lowest scoring teams in the NRL are playing the lowest interesting time slot of the weekend. How apt. Parramatta to win because Mitchell Moses is better than Kalyn Ponga.

Parramatta by 4

BULLDOGS v ROOSTERS

Perhaps the Bulldogs have mastered the arts of only needing to play one good half and saving energy.

Bulldogs by 12

DOLPHINS v WARRIORS

Hopefully an entertaining, flowing clash. Or selfishly, a Dolphins win.

Warriors by 2

NORTH QUEENSLAND v MANLY

Funny that people accuse Manly of not liking to travel. They have an excellent record in Townsville. People also say they hate Manly. I accuse them of both.

Manly by 8

CRONULLA v MELBOURNE

Maybe if Melbourne are winning by 90 this weekend Craig Bellamy could crack a smile. Cronulla aren’t that bad. In fact it would be funny to a neutral sitting inside a Popemobile-like safe space if Cronulla were winning.

Melbourne by 30

BRONCOS v ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA

Unlike the Commodores songs, and to a lesser degree Faith No More, this game isn’t easy like a Sunday Morning. It’s more like the Ewwwwwwwwwwwww part of the song. There are just four wins in 22 games on a Sunday between both Broncos and Dragons. And the Dragons have all four wins. Although, they are 1/10 away on a Sunday. Maybe another draw. Although I’m sure Xavier Willison and Payne Haas won’t settle for a draw.

Broncos by 2.

CANBERRA v GOLD COAST

I had to double check my phone, Canberra and the Gold Coast on Channel Nein at the same time. We are getting close to Origin. Unlike the Gold Coast to Canberra this weekend. If David Fifita wasn’t injured he’d get a lot of bench time to see what he missed out on by not moving to Canberra.

Canberra by 20

WESTS TIGERS v SOUTH SYDNEY

At least the Tigers aren’t playing a side with a fullback in red hot form…..wait a minute. Souths have Latrell. And Latrell is on the hunt for an Origin berth.

Tigers by 8

Dragons have lost their last four games away to Qld sides on a Sunday. The most recent was a 38-0 loss to the Dolphins.

CANBERRA V GOLD COAST

Canberra have won ten of their last 11 v Gold Coast.

Canberra have beaten the Gold Coast at home for the past three seasons.

Canberra have won their last four at home on a Sunday to Qld sides. Overall it’s a healthy W16 L6.

2025 NRL Round 10 Stats of the Week

Need some barely interesting stats to round up your weekend NRL experience? Here’s the choicest cuts of data from the weekend that was.

  • Dolphins broke a five game losing streak v Sydney clubs, and they are now 6/8 on a Thursday v all teams.
  • Parramatta have now lost five in a row v Qld teams.
  • Gold Coast’s win over Newcastle was only the second time an away team has won the Newcastle v Gold Coast fixture from the last 16 games.
  • Since 2023, the Broncos have actually won eight of their last ten away games on a Friday. Their two losses were both against Souths.
  • Prior to the Bulldogs’ last two wins over Canberra, the Raiders had won nine straight.
  • Bulldogs have won eight of their last nine away games.
  • Seven teams have a better for and against than the second placed Warriors. Including the 12th placed Dolphins.
  • The last three draws in the NRL were all on Saturday.
  • Melbourne have won eight straight v Wests Tigers. Sunday was the second time the Storm have scored 60 or more v Tigers in that run.
  • Melbourne have scored more tries in the first half an hour of their games this season than three teams have all season so far – South Sydney, Newcastle and Parramatta.
  • It was the 13th time that Melbourne have scored 60 points or more.
  • Cronulla have won six of their last seven games v Manly and three in a row at Brookvale on a Sunday.

Zero Points Stats Special

So the Wests Tigers failed to trouble the scorers….it happens more than you think, and not everyone’s season is ruined. But most of them are.

With a bunch of zero based stats below for all.

  • The three teams to score zero points and still win a premiership have happened in the last five seasons – Melbourne (2020) and Penrith (2022, 2024).
  • Every team bar two since 2013 who finished last scored zero points during that losing season. But at least the last two seasons when it didn’t happen was 2024 and 2022.

EVERYDAY NEWS – The Frustrated Comedian

A veteran comedian has announced he’s leaving Australia because it’s “too woke”.

‘Saucy Sam’ (real name Alex Norcross) has made a career out of adult-themed parody songs, releasing six studio albums, three live albums, and two live DVDs from 1984 to 2014. While not as popular as his contemporaries Rodney Rude and Kevin ‘Bloody’ Wilson, Sam was able to carve a niche by touring remote Australia and focusing on smaller venues.

But he’s finally had enough after publishing a rant on his official Facebook page.

“Due to lack of interest, I’ve been forced to cancel my ‘Unapologetically Un-woke’ tour as Australia’s become too woke and too soft to handle my sense of humour! While I’m a proud born-and-bred Aussie, it’s clear this country doesn’t want me anymore, so I’m going to America and will focus on touring certain areas of the country that still have a sense of humour and refuse to be ‘woke’! It’s been a fun 40 years, but this isn’t the country that I grew up in! And that’s just sad!”

Most of Sam’s followers agreed with him, blaming the “woke, soy latte sipping Millenial snowflakes” for ruining his career.

“Even 10 years ago, your shows would be packed to the rafters and all the punters would be laughing and singing along,” wrote one commentor.

“I last saw you last year at the local pub and nobody turned up! It was sad. It’s a disgrace what this so-called country’s become!” wrote another commentor.

Though one commentor wrote, “Maybe, just maybe, the problem is you Saucy Sam! You’ve been playing the same old songs that you wrote 30 years ago and haven’t released a new album in a decade. Do you maybe think Australia has outgrown your juvenille attempt at humour? Silly songs about how many times you rooted your missus aren’t funny anymore, no matter what your backwater fans tell you.”

Not surprisingly, this comment received a huge negative reaction and many abusive replies before the commentor eventually left the group (which was probably for the best).

NRL Round 10 Dolphins v Parramatta Final Thoughts

Like Jerry Springer, but for rugby league.

It certainly felt at times like a clash between two sides that had won five games between them this season and residing in the lower reaches of the NRL ladder. The good thing for the Dolphins after their four game winless start to the season, is that a lot of experts thought this would be win number one for 2025, not number four. And the Dolphins have played better this season without the reward of two competition points. Sometimes it’s better to win any way you can, than to lose playing well for a while, or a whole half.

Instead of playing like the world’s greatest rugby league team for 40 minutes at a time, the Dolphins grinded this one out, relying on some moments of brilliance rather being a massive threat all game. Truth be told Parramatta looked much better in attack for most of the game. But a win is a win, and the Dolphins drag themselves closer to the 50% win rate usually needed to make the NRL finals.

One thing before leaving the negatives, if the Dolphins halves are going to continue their limited bomb kicks on the last tackle of a set, then the chase needs to be really good every time. Isaiya Katoa provided enough good kicks, but not enough of them were chased hard. Talking of which, where was the support for Kodi Nikorima who started walking after a line break. But there does need to be a little more variety on the last play. Especially when you have quality centres that the Dolphins do.

Herbie Farnworth will and should take a lot of plaudits for his match tonight. Every hit up looked like it could break the line, and his try, which turned out to be a winning one, showed all the strength of Farnworth. As was a couple of his very important tackles. Herbie headlines the great recruiting done for 2024. Less so, for 2025.

But forgotten among the Herbie brilliance is Jake Averillo, who is solid as a rock in attack and defense and has been almost as valuable a recruit as Farnworth, in our opinion.

Talking of solid, Ray Stone had yet another great game for the Dolphins, and his work ethic with tackle after tackle is hard to beat. In fact, Parramatta only looked a chance of winning when Stone wasn’t on the field. So more minutes for Ray equals more chance of winning.

The Dolphins got the win this time, and may not be so lucky next time.
