They say there can only be winners and losers in sport, but of course they’re wrong and they’re fools, there’s always another result, a special one for learned sporting fans – the draw. And who doesn’t love a draw where no one loses. The real winners include canny punters who look for value, and The Gurgler website is always happy to help with predictions, opinion and stats, so welcome to our Football Draw Predictions Weekly for another weekend of balanced football.

Our resident draw expert Frankington Stanley runs his keen eye over the many football divisions around the world to find the best draws for you. He’s sort of like the John West of Football draws, he hates Dog Salmon and lop-sided fixtures. The fewer the goals the better too.

Frankington Stanley is not fussy, no country or continent is out of bounds, and the more obscure the better. And some of them are quite obscure. They don’t even feature on the Who Scored website.

Football Draw Predictions Weekly

DRAW OF THE WEEK

England » Premier League – 2026/2027 » Leeds-Brentford
Kick off:14:00 Sun, 30-Aug-26

Why: Five of the last seven games between Brentford and Leeds have ended in a draw including the last three games. It’s three draws in a row between these sides at Leeds and 6 of the last 10 at Leeds. The other four games were only 1-0, so these games are tight.

OTHER FOOTBALL DRAW PREDICTIONS

England » Championship – 2026/2027 » Cardiff-Sheffield United
Kick off: 15:00 Sat, 29-Aug-26

Why: Both of these teams have opened with two draws to start the season, so there’s no suggestion either wants to win this. Which is good. Also despite the fact there hasn’t been a draw between these sides in the last four seasons they were in the same division, but in the 6 seasons priors to that, one game of the two ended in a draw.

England » League One – 2026/2027 » Milton Keynes-Leicester
Kick off:12:30 Sat, 29-Aug-26

Why: Early days in the third tier League One, but Milton Keynes have opened up their league season with two draws so are draw ready for this weekend. They play Leicester who have drawn and lost one but haven’t started the best to their new life in the third division, so will probably settle for a draw. Or maybe not.

Spain » LaLiga – 2026/2027 » Deportivo Alaves-Villarreal
Kick off:20:30 Fri, 28-Aug-26

Why: Villareal have opened the season with two straight draws, which is a good start. Alaves are W1 D1 so far, which is half good. Plus two of the last three games between these sides at Alaves ended in a draw.

Italy » Serie A – 2026/2027 » Sassuolo-Torino
Kick off:17:30 Sat, 29-Aug-26

Why: Both of these sides matches the same results in the first weekend of Serie A, a 2-1 loss. So a draw may be an upgrade both will settle for. Also, two of the last three games between these sides played at Sassuolo ended in a draw.

France » Ligue 1 – 2026/2027 » Strasbourg-Lens
Kick off:16:15 Sat, 29-Aug-26

Why: The last two games between these sides and three of the last four at Strasbourg ended in a draw.

OBSCURE LEAGUE DRAW PREDICTION OF THE WEEK

It’s all good and well to offer up draws for the big leagues, but what about something different you ask? Here is our best draw bet of the week from the rest of the continent or the world.

Poland » I Liga – 2026/2027 » Puszcza Niepolomice-TS Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala
Kick off:14:30 Sat, 29-Aug-26

Why: Good old Poland have started their season a little earlier and so we’re up to the sixth round of games. The away side TS Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala have drawn all five of their games so far this season, so hard to argue about. Puszcza Niepolomice have opened up the season with one win and four losses, so a draw might be welcome. Also the most recent match up between these sides in 2023 ended in a draw.
