Each gameweek in this 2025-26 Premier League season we offer up a stat filled prediction preview, with some barely interesting stats and visuals, just enough to bluff your way through various tipping competitions or betting shops.

2025-26 Premier League Predictions Week 38 Summary

SUNDAY 4PM – BURNLEY v WOLVES

Stats: Both these teams have the same winless record for their respective home and away form v current bottom six teams. Wolves are the only team not to win on a Sunday this season. Burnley have lost only one of their last ten v Wolves – W5 D4 L1. Burnley are undefeated in their last seven games v Wolves at home, with a last loss in 2010 (W4 D3). Burnley have won three in a row v Wolves on a Sunday. Burnley have lost six of their last seven with a draw the other result. Burnley are winless in 11 games while Wolves are winless in seven.

STATS v CURRENT BOTTOM SIX
Burnley: W2 D2 L5 Home D2 L2
Wolves: W1 D2 L6 Away D2 L2

Verdict: A nice touch to end the season with last playing second last.

Prediction: Burnley 0 Wolves 2

SUNDAY 4PM – CRYSTAL PALACE v ARSENAL

Stats: Arsenal are undefeated in their last seven games v Crystal Palace (W6 D1). Arsenal have won three in a row at Crystal Palace and going down to 1980, Arsenal have lost just two games of 22 played at Crystal Palace (W13 D7 L2). Crystal Palace have played the most Sunday games this season with a record of W5 D7 L9. Arsenal are one of two teams that are undefeated away to London clubs (W3 D2).

Verdict: This could be the most hungover game in football history.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1 Arsenal 4

SUNDAY 4PM – FULHAM v NEWCASTLE

Stats: Fulham won the last home v Newcastle last season but lost four in a row before that. Newcastle have won the last five games between these sides on a Sunday, and Fulham haven’t scored in the last four.

RECORD v CURRENT MIDDLE EIGHT TEAMS
Fulham: W6 D2 L5 — Home: W5 L1
Newcastle: W5 D2 L6 — Away W2 D1 L3

Verdict: So little to play for. Maybe Eddie Howe for his job. Or Marco Silva for another job.

Prediction: Fulham 1 Newcastle 0

SUNDAY 4PM – LIVERPOOL v BRENTFORD

Stats: Liverpool have won nine home games in a row v Brentford and last lost to them in 1937. Liverpool have won all three games on a Sunday between these teams, by a combined 8-0. Brentford have lost all five away games v big sides this season.

Verdict: Liverpool’s sorry season can finally come to a close. Meanwhile, Brentford do the solid midfield finish that Brentford are famed for.

Prediction: Liverpool 3 Brentford 0

SUNDAY 4PM – MANCHESTER CITY v ASTON VILLA

Stats: The home side (either side) have won six games in a row. Man City have won nine in a row at home to Aston Villa and 15 of the last 16. Man City have a 100% record at home to the current top six sides, Aston Villa are winless away – D1 L3.

RECORD v CURRENT TOP SIX
Man City: W5 D2 L2 — Home W4
Aston Villa: W5 D1 L3 — Away D1 L3.

Verdict: Not a great deal to play for on the table, but Man City players will want to send Pep out with a win. Aston Villa could still be hungover.

Prediction: Man City 4 Aston Villa 1

SUNDAY 4PM – NOTTINGHAM FOREST v BOURNEMOUTH

Stats: Bournemouth are undefeated in their last 11 games v Nottingham Forest (W7 L4). Bournemouth are W3 D2 in their last five trips to Nottingham Forest. Bournemouth are also W1 D1 v Forest on a Sunday. Bournemouth are W6 D5 v current bottom six sides, one of three teams to remain undefeated v bottom six sides along with Arsenal and Man Utd. They are W2 D3 away to bottom six sides. Nottingham Forest are D3 L2 v current top six sides at home. Four other clubs haven’t beaten a top six side at home this season – Leeds, Spurs, Burnley and West Ham. Nottingham Forest have averaged three goals a game in their last five.

Verdict: Bournemouth being in the cusp of Champions League must get them close to the team of the year. Spent nearly the entire second half of the season undefeated. Nottingham Forest have saved themselves in style going on a late season scoring spree.

Prediction: Nott’m Forest 3 Bournemouth 2

SUNDAY 4PM – SUNDERLAND v CHELSEA

Stats: The last nine games between Chelsea and Sunderland have seen four wins a piece and one draw. Chelsea lead the Sunday H2H by 6-2 with one draw. Chelsea are only W1 D2 L2 v promoted sides this season. Sunderland are W1 D3 L1 at home to big six clubs this season. So Sunderland have scored more points at home to big six clubs than Chelsea have in the same number of game v promoted sides.

Verdict: The fact that Sunderland can overtake Chelsea on the table and make a European competition with a win just about sums up the season. Standing ovation for Sunderland’s promotion season, giving fans of Championship clubs hope again.

Prediction: Sunderland 2 Chelsea 1

SUNDAY 4PM – TOTTENHAM v EVERTON

Stats: Tottenham have won their last four home games v Everton by a combined 13-1. In the 26 games since 2013 between these sides, Spurs have won 13 and drawn 11 with just two losses. So you could argue Spurs have a less than 10% of throwing survival away with a loss. But they have won only two home games all season and are only beating Burnley on the home form ladder by one goal on goal difference. Everton are W5 D4 L2 v bottom six sides this season and W2 D2 L1 away.

Verdict: Spurs only need to avoid defeat to stay up, they’ve done that eight times from 18 games this season. So there’s a better than a one in two chance Spurs lose. Lower midfield must be a relief for Everton with a shiny new stadium.

Prediction: Spurs 1 Everton 1

SUNDAY 4PM – WEST HAM v LEEDS

Stats: Leeds have the third biggest current undefeated streak with 8 games without a loss, behind Man City and Bournemouth. West Ham have lost only one of their last five home v Leeds, but importantly for survival have only won two of those games. The last four games between these sides on a Sunday have seen 20 goals scored. Leeds are W6 D2 L3 v current bottom six teams.

Verdict: The other important relegation game. West Ham are more than capable of winning, and Spurs more than capable of losing their game. In the middle is Leeds – a team and fan base that doesn’t like losing.

Prediction: West Ham 2 Leeds 1

SUNDAY 4PM – BRIGHTON v MANCHESTER UTD

Stats: The H2H at Brighton is 3-1 in Brighton’s favour for the last four matches. The Sunday H2H is 3-3. Brighton are W4 D3 L4 v big six sides this season and W3 D1 L1 at home. Man Utd lead the way for games this season where both teams score – 27 out of 37.

Verdict: Guaranteed European football for both, so maybe we’ll see plenty of goals.

Prediction: Brighton 2 Man Utd 2
