THURSDAY 8PM – DOLPHINS v BULLDOGS

Best Bet: Bulldogs/Dolphins HT/FT Double @ $7.00

Why: Bulldogs have been losing to reserve grade teams and have a terrible record at Suncorp Stadium. They’ve never won at Suncorp Stadium on a Thursday. Dolphins may have only just broken a four game losing streak, but their two narrow losses to table topping Penrith and Wahs is a good form line. But the Dolphins first halves are so bad, so why not get some value out of it.

FRIDAY 6PM – ROOSTERS v GOLD COAST @ Gosford

Best Bet: Gold Coast +18.5 start @ $1.70

Why: Roosters should win, and probably will, but the Titans have decent Friday form and won this game on a Friday last season. Even during the 11 straight losses to the Roosters before that, there were some one point losses.

FRIDAY 8PM – NORTH QUEENSLAND v PARRAMATTA

Best Bet: Match Points under 54.5 @ $1.90

Why: Parramatta have some good stats v Cowboys, the problem is they aren’t going that well to convince us to put money on them outright. But looking back at the H2H, the last 17 matches between these sides is under the 54.5 point threshold. They’ll need to be some improvement on the defense front from the Eels though.

SATURDAY 3PM – ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA v NEWCASTLE @ WIN Stadium

Best Bet: Newcastle to win @ $1.35

Why: It’s hard to tip a team that have lost 12 in a row, were handsomely flogged before last weekend’s bye, and who didn’t appear to like their interim head coach much before hiring him. Throw in that the Dragons form on a Saturday is particularly terrible. Newcastle have a good Saturday record away, v Dragons and v Sydney teams, all which helps. And the away side has won 12/14 Saturday clashes between these sides.

SATURDAY 5:30PM – SOUTH SYDNEY v CRONULLA

Best Bet: Total Points Over 53.5 @ $1.90

Why: Souths are first and Cronulla equal second for scoring 30 points or more in games this season. Just one of Cronulla’s games this season hasn’t seen a combined points total of 48 or more. Four of Souths’ last five games have seen 50 points and more.

SATURDAY 7:30PM – MANLY v BRISBANE

Best Bet: Total Points Under 50.5 @ $1.90

Why: Only one game of the nine played between these teams at Brookvale since 1998 has seen more than 41 points. Often it is much less. Broncos have scored six or less in four of their last five visits to Brookvale. Manly have conceded exactly 18 points four times of the five games that Kieran Foran has taken charge of. They conceded six points in the other game.

SUNDAY 2PM – MELBOURNE v WESTS TIGERS

Best Bet: Melbourne to win @ $1.59

Why: With all the many stats going in Melbourne’s favour, surely this is the week they turn it around. Maybe the form slump is related to a lack of day games, as Melbourne have won their last 14 day games at home on a Sunday, and by a combined 560-174. Melbourne have also won eight in a row v Wests Tigers and the record is lop sided in Melbourne.

SUNDAY 4PM – CANBERRA v PENRITH

Best Bet: Penrith to win @ $1.29

Why: Why find a reason to back against them. Penrith have won 22 straight games anywhere v teams from NSW/ACT on a Sunday and Canberra’s record in Canberra v Penrith is that great.
