Unlike the NRL Grand Final, which offers up two of the more unlikeable teams in the competition making it hard to follow either, the Ryder Cup is a lot more one way. You either support USA, or you come from any other country in the world.

The Ryder Cup features Matchplay golf, a very underrated form of the game, along with Skins. 

It is enjoyable viewing, something to balance out all the footy hype.
