Time to calm down after State of Origin 2 and so here is our NRL Round 16 Preview. Full of tips, the smallest game by game preview possible, answers to the big questions, and almost more. Including answering the age old question of rugby league – which club has the most expensive Collector’s Card on Ebay.
The Origin will provide many talking points, and will also affect the line ups for this weekend. Who knows how many late exclusions there will be. Origin taking over the NRL as usual.
But there’s still seven games to digest this weekend, so here we go.
THE NRL ROUND 16 PREVIEW MATCH BY MATCH IN 20 WORDS OR LESS OR SO
FRIDAY 6pm – WARRIORS (11th) v BULLDOGS (12th)
Two perennially disappointing teams face off and more disappointment awaits one side. Warriors are the Origin time kings.
FRIDAY 8pm ish – TIGERS (16th) v TITANS (14th)
Battle of the basement. Tigers should have won last weekend but didn’t know how. Somehow Titans turned a big lead into a big loss.
SATURDAY 3pm – COWBOYS (7th) v PANTHERS (8th)
Panthers are starting to build nicely. Origin casualties will dictate how the Cowboys will go. Big chance of an upset.
SATURDAY 5:30pm – RAIDERS (10th) v BRONCOS (4th)
Two of rugby leagues grumpiest coaches go head to head. Broncos have to contend with many origin backups, Raiders just the one.
SATURDAY 7:30pm – ROOSTERS (2nd) v STORM (1st)
First v second. Not on FTA? Of course it isn’t. They have much better things to do. Like all Sydney Sunday clashes and the Wests Tigers/Eels.
SUNDAY 2pm – DRAGONS (6th) v KNIGHTS (15th)
The Dragons look done. 2 points against the previously busted arse Dogs. Knights can ride on back of Gagai magic.
SUNDAY 4pm – SHARKS (3rd) v SEA EAGLES (5th)
For once a decent clash on a Sunday afternoon. Not for the first time it’s all Sydney. Of course it is. Not far to drive hey Rabs?
THE BIG QUESTION FOR THE NRL ROUND 15 PREVIEW
Q. How did Queensland win that State of Origin clash?
A. Dane “Troy” Gagai. Queensland’s best for two games running. And off to Souths for next year. Yes please.
NRL ROUND 16 PREVIEW “FUN” FACTS
WHICH CLUB HAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE COLLECTOR CARDS ON EBAY
Which team has the most valuable Collector’s Card on Ebay? You may ask us why? Or you know us well and merely shake your head at yet another piece of evidence that there is something wrong with us or we have way too much time. Both.
But we were inspired after a good friend of The Gurgler presented us with a bounty of old Stimorol Playing Cards. So much gold, and stay tuned for more gold based on those cards.
We then thought, which club has the most expensive card on Ebay, and why not base some tips on this week’s games based on the higher cost of the two teams. So we did.
