Kick to Come – The Gurgler’s NRL Round 13 Preview

Here is the Kick to Come – The Gurgler’s NRL Round 13 Preview.

After all the excitement of the State of Origin, it’s time to calm down and settle in for the NRL Round 13.

7 games make up this weekend’s action, and currently there should only be a few withdrawals thanks to Origin. At least the NRL gave tams Thursday off, and hopefully soon that break will be longer with Sunday standalone for all three matches.

Onto the usual NRL preview stuff then.

THE NRL ROUND 13 PREVIEW MATCH BY MATCH IN 20 WORDS OR LESS OR SO

FRIDAY – STORM v KNIGHTS

Tough couple of days for Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk and co. who have less than 48 Hours to back up. Playing Newcastle helps.

FRIDAY – EELS v WARRIORS

You really know it is Origin time when the Warriors get a TV game on FTA. Pity it is in Sydney where their record stinks.

SATURDAY – DRAGONS v WESTS TIGERS

OK, so now Tedesco and Woods can prove they can play in 2017, how about doing it for the Tigers a few times before you cash in.

SATURDAY – ROOSTERS v BRONCOS

A top 5 clash, should be a goodun. Both sides have lost key players from Origin. Hard to think this isn’t on a Friday night.

SATURDAY – COWBOYS v TITANS

Titans are a determined side despite all the injuries, Cowboys have been ordinary of late, especially at home.

SUNDAY – MANLY v RAIDERS

Manly surprising like the Dragons in the Top 8. Although a loss to Canberra could see that change.

SUNDAY – BULLDOGS v PANTHERS

The two most unpredictable sides to tip meet, lord knows what to select.

THE BIG QUESTION FOR THE NRL ROUND 13 PREVIEW

Q. A NSW Dynasty after one good win?

A. Apparently so. Whilst the Blues win was an impressive as it gets, and Queensland’s luck was always going to change, the talk of a NSW dynasty is certainly premature given there are two games left. If the teams play like they did last night it will be 3 – 0 NSW by the end of the series and deservedly so. Then after a few of those series in a row you can talk dynasty.

THE GURGLER’S NRL TIPPING COMPETITION

Each week we will supply our tips for the week ahead, plus take on some guest tipsters. They are likely to determined by a ridiculous method. Will arse beat class? Probably. Pity we’re neither.

We have done it for the EPL, but next to none reads it. So we hope to get at least half of those people for the NRL tipping.

NRL ROUND 13 PREVIEW – GUEST TIPSTER 1 – HIGHEST VALUE OF MAIN JERSEY SPONSOR

Since the NRL seems to be as much about selling jerseys as the sport itself, we thought it would be interesting to see how much the companies are worth that adorn the front of the all important kit. The highest revenue of the company gets the tip.
