So the NRL have decided there should be zero Sunday Afternoon Rugby League in Brisbane in 2017 after unveiling their 2017 for the first 20 rounds.
NO SURPRISES
That’s a real shame, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise, as we unveiled the secrets of the NRL earlier in the year.

THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE
OK, so maybe you’ll miss out on the NRL on a Sunday in 2017, because as if the NRL will Broncos a Sunday game in Rounds 21 and 26, but there is an alternative.
It is the Queensland Cup aka the Intrust Super Cup.
Sure some will argue it’s not the top grade of rugby league, but second tier is not always second best. Given some of the dross on offer on a Sunday from the NRL (how many games did Newcastle get?) the Queensland Cup is a great alternative for those who want Sunday Afternoon Rugby League in Brisbane.
Not only does local comp provide Sunday Afternoon Rugby League in Brisbane, it has the laid back feel the NRL has lost, and cheap beer and food, and yes a Hill.
And the NRL doesn’t feature any sides from PNG like The Gurgler’s favourite sporting team the PNG Hunters.
