The Gurgler has obtained exclusive rumours that Donald Trump is to join Nine’s Summer of Cricket for the upcoming season.
With the US Presidential hopeful’s campaign going from crisis to crises, and a tilt at the top job becoming less likely, Channel Nein have been rumoured to have sounded out the US property tycoon about joining the team.
The US megastar may not know anything about Nine’s Summer of Cricket, but his presence isn’t about the Cricket, but the overall entertainment package Channel Nein hope to offer.
He is perfect and fits Nine’s Summer of Cricket mould. He is loud, annoying, and will no doubt spend most of his commentary stint talking about himself, and relating any particular play during the match back to a particular moment in his life.
It will be all about him, and for Nine’s Summer of Cricket that’s just fine.
We spoke to Gurgler Sports editor Max Layne about the rumours of Trump joining Nine’s Summer of Cricket.
“Channel Nein, sorry I mean, Channel Nein haven’t worried about a lack of popularity amongst proper cricket fans for years now with their line up of dross, so what is just one more loudmouth fool in the box.”
Max also continued “It’s not as if they have shied away from having someone who knows f*** all about the sport they are commentating on.” Max went on to point out most of Channel Nine’s coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games, and the ill fated era of Michael Slater hosting the Footy Show.
“It won’t change my habits” Max summed up “I don’t listen to them anyway. The big shock of the Cricket summer will be no Jim Maxwell on the ABC. Now there is something we will all miss.”
With the big vote on November 8, and results more than likely to drag out for a few days Trump’s debut will be in time for the second Test in Hobart. No doubt after a tremendously gracious conceding speech.
This means he will miss the Perth Test opener, but as West Australians hate anything east of Kalgoorlie, it won’t be a great loss.
Do we hope it happens? Sure. It would be fun. LCD Box Office Gold.
Just the way Channel Nein like it.
