Week 2 and we’re still as excited as last week as another round of Queensland Intrust Super Cup looms.
This week features a Grand Final Replay between Ipswich and Townsville, and gives The Gurgler our first look at Willie Minoga in Townsville colours as the game is on TV. Elsewhere there’s some matches between feeder teams. Cowboys Northern Pride and Mackay go head to head in Cairns. Titans Burleigh and Tweed Heads take each other on at Pizzey Park, and there’s Broncos feeder club battles between Central and Norths and Souths Logan and Redcliffe.
The other game is Wynnum v PNG Hunters which should be top shelf entertainment.

Not much change in the teams this week, and always a moving target with feeder arrangements.
THE HUNT FOR PNG OCTOBER
Each week we’ll bring a brief update on our favourite team in this competition – the excitement machine that is the PNG Hunters.
PNG Hunters opened their account for 2016 with a hard fought win over the Souths Logan at the Hunters’ happy hunting ground Davies Park. Although it was a scrappy affair, and new combinations and players to mould, the Hunters showed flashes of brilliance, and once the errors slow as the season matures, the Hunters look right up there for 2016. Their record at Davies Parl is now 3/3.
They head to Wynnum’s BMD Kougari this weekend where the record is much different than the Magpies home ground. The Hunters are currently 0/3 at Kougari, and one wouldn’t think it is the Chook Pen that put them off given the 15,000 enthusiastic fans they get to games. But somehow it is a bogey round, which makes the move to Wynnum’s ground for the final last year even less of a great idea. Well it stunk to be honest.
Can they overcome the Seagulls’ ground hoodoo? We’re not sure, and have even tipped Wynnum to win. The Hunters can’t win every week, canthey?
