An action packed first round of the FA Cup was completed over the weekend, with a few upsets recorded – the biggest of which was Salford defeating Notts County on the Friday night or Altrincham beating League One Barnsley wasn’t bad either. They are one of potentially 14 Non League teams that will play in the second round. Although that number will likely dwindle with a bunch of first round replays left to play.
Some other highlight results of the first round include Bury’s 4-0 hammering of former recent FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic, Forest Green Rovers beating AFC Wimbledon 2-1, League Two strugglers Stevenage beating top League One side Gillingham and Eastleigh beating League One strugglers Crewe.
The second round awaits and a win here means the big time as the Third Round welcomes the big boys from the Championship and EPL.
