It’s a big weekend in the Queensland Cup with a top of the table clash in PNG as The Gurgler’s favourite and second placed PNG Hunters take on the Townsville Blackhawks who are the dominant leaders on this year’s competition.
They’ve only lost twice all season, and just once since Round 2. That one loss was handed to them by the PNG Hunters in one of the finest exhibitions of Queensland Cup football seen.
Here’s hoping there’s a live stream of this one, as it may be the best game of league in any competition this weekend, with a host of one sided contests in the NRL.
With these teams sitting first and second it could be a sneak preview of this year’s Grand Final. If so, sign us up. Although as some of the recent TV games prove, any of the Top 5 sides in the GF would be high quality.
But it’s not all about the Hunters v Blackhawks, there’s plenty more on offer as there is every week. The TV game as ever kicks off on Channel 9 at 1:30pm on Sunday.
