2021-22 English Premier League Week 36 Tips – Barely Interesting Stats
Previously we came up with a bunch of barely interesting facts for each match, but let’s be honest, some games are less interesting than others.
So here we assemble only the finest cuts of barely interesting facts for the upcoming weekend of Premier League. Feel free to share them at BBQs, at the pub, and to any number of strangers on the Tube.
Recently promoted FULHAM have scored more goals than the bottom three Premier League teams combined. They are just a few goals shy of averaging four a game. Aleksandar Mitrovic has currently outscored ten of the Premier League sides this season himself with one game to go.
Watford have lost all ten games against London clubs this season.
Wolves have scored the fewest goals of any teams v top six this season with two in nine games. Chelsea haven’t lost at home to Wolves since 1979 – the record is W7 D3 Goals Scored 24 Goals Against 3)
Aston Villa have won just one game @ Burnley in their last 14 visits, going back to 1961. The last five Saturday games between these sides have ended in either a 1-1 or 2-2 draw.
Man Utd have won six straight v Brighton.
Liverpool is the only team not to have lost to a big six team on a Saturday this season (W1 D1). Liverpool are also undefeated in their 11 home games v Spurs (W8 D3) and it’s one loss in the last 23 home games v Spurs.
Norwich and West Ham have met 52 times, but never on a Sunday.
Arsenal are on a ten game unbeaten streak v Leeds Utd (W8 D2) Arsenal have scored four goals or more in half of those games.
Manchester City have won seven straight games on a Sunday v Newcastle. Man City have outscored Newcastle 12-0 in the last five Sunday matches.
Newcastle, Leeds and Norwich are the only teams not to win a game against the big six clubs this season. Newcastle at least have one draw.
Aston Villa have won the last two home games v Liverpool in all comp by a combined 12-2. Although one was a League Cup game played while Liverpool were at Club World Cup.
Norwich have won the last three midweek games v Leicester.
