Premier League Fixtures Week 18 Difficulty Rating

Wondering which Premier League side has the easiest or hardest set of upcoming fixtures? Well allow us to present our Premier League Fixtures Week 18 Difficulty Rating.

Proud partners of The Gurgler – S&C Sports Data – have come up with a measure to judge the difficulty factor for each team over the next three games. Not just with current table position, but historical results and more.

We could go further, but we think three games provides just enough window for FPL players, late night sports fans in Australia and around the world, or multi loving gamblers alike.

How our Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating works….

S&C Sports Data have data from 10 seasons of Premier League, and created a measure of each team’s head to head record over that period, on a sliding scale from current day backwards.

Then the team in question and the opposition’s overall and recent form is taken into consideration, including measuring the relative form of the two sides.

The Match Rater 3000 score is then produced, with a range of 1 being the easiest possible fixture up to 10 for the hardest.

So the S&C measure combines many fields to give an overall picture for the next three games.

Premier League Fixtures Week 18 Difficulty Rating Overall Results

  • Tough times for Leicester with their next two coming against Man City and Liverpool. Still doesn’t hand them the worst rating for the next three though.
  • Wolves have Man City and Liverpool themselves in the next three weeks.
  • Even Liverpool have got it tougher than usual with overachieving Leicester and Wolves. They miss their game with West Ham because of the Club World Cup.
  • Man Utd have a much better record against higher placed teams, so their next three will test that theory further.

Which team in Overperforming / Underperforming against our Difficulty Rating?

We have gone back through our difficulty ratings so far this season, and worked out the potential points each team could have scored, and then have a comparison ready for mild interest.

Our predictions were a little hard on Newcastle and Southampton, but no surprise that Sheffield Utd are out-performing our predictions.

At the other end some big names are underperforming. Chelsea’s difficulty rating was possibly a little too high, but Man City appear to be underperforming according to us as they are table-wise.
