NRL Round 26 Results & Stats Summary
Here are the main stats from the latest round of NRL that can be used to solve arguments, showcase at a daily stand up, or to take to the United Nations to stop all wars.
This week there’s some gooduns.
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL
- Melbourne have won 6/7 at Suncorp Stadium on a Thursday.
- Manly have won eight of their last ten home games to the Dragons.
- South Sydney have won 11 in a row v Gold Coast. South Sydney have also won 12 games in a row at CBUS Stadium v Gold Coast, with the Titans last win there over Souths back in 2009. Souths have won eight in a row at CBUS v Titans on a Saturday.
- Dolphins have won all five visits to Sydney teams in Sydney this season.
- Dolphins have won 14 of their last 16 games.
- Warriors have won 15 of their last 17 games at Mt Smart Stadium v Newcastle.
- Warriors have won eight of their last nine home games on a Sunday, but three of those games weren’t at Mt Smart Stadium.
- Parramatta have won their last four and 7 of the last 8 Sunday games at CommBank Stadium.
- Parramatta have won all five games at CommBank Stadium in 2026 v Sydney teams.
BAD LUCK STREAK CONTINUES
- Broncos have lost nine straight at Suncorp Stadium and are averaging 34 points against in that run. If the Dragons win their home game v Parramatta next round, the Broncos will hold the worst home form for 2026 outright. The record since 1998 appears to be ten losses in a row at the same home ground held by Cronulla and the Bulldogs.
- St George Illawarra have lost 11 in a row away on a Friday, going back to 2012, the Dragons have won only four of their last 33 Friday away games. Going back to 2020, the Dragons have the worst post-Covid break away record of all the teams.
- Going back to 2021, the Bulldogs have won just four games of 24 as the away side on a Friday.
- Wests Tigers have won only one of their last 10 away games v Qld sides. Wests Tigers have lost their last 10 away games on a Saturday and won just once away on a Saturday in their last 19 attempts.
- Cronulla are W1 L5 v Sydney teams away this season.
BREAKTHROUGH
- Melbourne’s win broke a run of five straight away losses.
IT WAS GOOD WHILE IT LASTED
- Roosters had won nine of their last 11 games at Allianz Stadium on a Saturday and won nine of their last 11 games at Allianz Stadium.
TEAMS THAT CAN’T WIN THE PREMIERSHIP – FINALS CONTENDERS
- Dolphins – conceded 50 points v Manly in Round 5. Conceded even more v Cronulla in Round 19.
- North Queensland – conceded 82 points v Roosters in Round 22. No team in the NRL era has won the premiership from outside the top four.
- Cronulla – No team in the NRL era has won the premiership from outside the top four.
- South Sydney – No team in the NRL era has won the premiership from outside the top four.
- Newcastle – No team in the NRL era has won the premiership from outside the top four.
TEAMS THAT CAN’T WIN THE PREMIERSHIP – NON FINALS CONTENDERS
- Gold Coast conceded 50 points in Round 1 v Cronulla. And Gold Coast sides don’t win things. Also not enough games left to get to the magical 50% win rate.
- Parramatta conceded 50+ points twice. Once v Melbourne in Round 1, then against Gold Coast in Round 6. Also not enough games left to get to the magical 50% win rate.
- Melbourne Storm – conceded 50 points v Penrith in Round 5. They also lost seven in a row.
- St George Illawarra – lost 11 in a row to start season – sacked coach – lost next game conceding 62 points. Also not enough games left to get to the magical 50% win rate.
- Wests Tigers can’t win the premiership after conceding 52 points against Cronulla in Round 9. And plenty more v Penrith in Round 15. And again v Canberra in Round 21. Also not enough games left to get to the magical 50% win rate. No team has lost six games in a row in a season and won the Premiership
- Bulldogs – can beat Penrith, can’t beat two teams with a combined injury toll of 27 players over two rounds earlier in the season.
- Broncos – no team has lost six games in a row in a season and won the Premiership. Melbourne lost five in a row in 2012 and still won the title. Also not enough games left to get to the magical 50% win rate.
- Manly – no team has lost six games in a row in a season and won the Premiership.

For a while now The Gurgler has been developing a Player Rating system for each NRL match, so why not test it now after one of the biggest games of the season.
We use stats and zero slats to determine a score out of ten for each player. The stats and weighting of stats change per position to make it fair. And worth noting that to get a 10/10 you have to be almost perfect in every way. A full explanation on the stats and weighting is at the end.
