EVERYDAY NEWS – The Ultimate Noob

A YouTube content creator has found success in being bad at video games.

Only going by their channel name The Ultimate Noob (to protect their anonymity), the YouTuber gets astronomical views by playing videos games badly on purpose.

“I’ve spent my whole life being bullied for being pathetic at most video games. The lowlight was when I was banned from a friend’s LAN party because they were worried my poor gaming skills would embarrass their friends,” said Noob. “Even one of my mate’s partner, who only played Plants vs Zombies, said I shouldn’t bother turning up anymore.”

Content to play video games casually – and in private – Noob was created after reading the comments on a video about bad video gamers.

“Most of it was either outright abuse or commentors bragging about how much better they were at gaming, but the post got 10,000 comments. You can’t argue with that engagement. Though I quickly learnt to NEVER read the comments on my channel! I pay a friend of mine to log into my account and reply to comments on my behalf. My friend says I’m better off not knowing what people are saying about me.”

Noob protects their anonymity by never showing their face, never speaking, and never using their real name.

Though ironically, being bad at video games has helped Noob become a better gamer.

“Now I’m playing videos games with a purpose, I’m actually improving. I can complete most games I play on the Normal difficulty setting, though I don’t touch anything beyond that. I usually get my ‘bad gaming’ out of the way for the video and then sit down and play the game properly. I’m enjoying gaming for the first time since I was a kid, before the abuse and bullying started when I reached high school.”
