2025 Mexican F1 Grand Prix Prix-view – Race Potential Rating
The Gurgler does like to use some obscure drivers in our Race previews and report, so who better to use than Teo Fabi to determine a race rating system.
So before each race we give a rating out of ten for four key category that are loosely based on each letter of Teo Fabi’s surname. Don’t know who Teo Fabi is, you should.
FAST? 6 / 10 – Nice long pit straight and a back straight adds speed, and although the esses aren’t quite what they used to be, they look make the cars look fast. The lap is spoiled by the Stadium section, not only for that, but killing the old fast last corner.
ACTION? 5 / 10 – The long pit straight into the first corner complex makes overtaking easier than elsewhere, and the back straight thereafter is best for settling beefs that may have happened just before. The Grandstand section serves to catch out the underwhelming, and sometimes does. We can expect one over-ambitious overtaking move to go wrong there at some stage.
BIG HISTORY? – 4 / 10 – It’s a stop-start history, with this being the third chapter of the Mexican Grand Prix. The 1990 race is a good one to have a re-watch.
INCLEMENT WEATHER? – 1 /10 – The Weather Channel says no chance of rain, and temperatures look very pleasant. So just the altitude of Mexico City then.
RACE POTENTIAL RATING 40% – Esses are fun, and long straight should provide some overtaking.
