Been too distracting by Cost of Living promises by various political parties during the Election campaign? Need some last-minute NRL tipping advice? Want something else to blame when the tips go wrong? Well then saddle up for The Gurgler’s Round 7 NRL Ratings and Late Mail.
In a new additional to our stable of NRL stats and tipping products, we have used all the stats we have, smashed them against each other like atoms, and come up with a H2H rating.
It includes this year’s form with a bias because it is this year, but we don’t forget historic stats of the H2H against this week’s opponents, and the ground and day the teams are playing on. Then slice up the scores out of 100% between the two sides. The bigger the percentage, the more likely to win.
2025 NRL Round 7 Ratings
Here are the H2H ratings and winner for our first attempt for Round 6 of the NRL.
A terrible round from the Ratings last weekend produced a 2/8. But improvement is on the way this week.
2025 Round 7 Late Mail
MANLY v ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA
DCE will be glad that Wests Tigers-Galvin situation takes some heat off him, so watch Manly play better this weekend. Dragons will need more than the usual Fox League sucking up to the coach to get them over the line this weekend.
BULLDOGS v SOUTH SYDNEY
Should be the best Good Friday clash in a long time. Bulldogs are unbeaten this season but Souths have the recent Good Friday H2H edge. The post bye results stand at W2 L3 this season. It’s a Stats v Current Form cliff hanger.
DOLPHINS v MELBOURNE
So many stats go against the Dolphins here, and Melbourne are so good at Suncorp Stadium and against Qld sides. And the Dolphins are trying to do it without Ray Stone. Madness.
WARRIORS v BRISBANE
usually a quality clash. 69% chance of thunderstorms and winds on Saturday in Auckland which won’t help the Broncos star Reece Walsh. Warriors have the lowest total errors this season.
ROOSTERS v PENRITH
The Roosters beat Penrith earlier in the season when it was a huge upset. A month later and Penrith still haven’t won. They should be better this week, as they couldn’t get much worse last week.
GOLD COAST v CANBERRA
Canberra are the long haul team this season having played in Las Vegas, Townsville, Perth, Darwin, and worst of all Manly. But their 4/6 record is raising the middle finger to pre-season critics yet again. Just the way Ricky Stuart likes. Gold Coast have fallen into a mini-hole, but Tino is back this weekend.
NEWCASTLE v CRONULLA
Newcastle have a decent recent record at home to Cronulla and on a Sunday at home. But Cronulla won all seven of their Sunday games in 2024. And at least Cronulla are winning recently.
WESTS TIGERS v PARRAMATTA
Quality clash to round off the Easter weekend of NRL. One wonders if the Lachlan Galvin distraction will hurt or inspire the team’s mojo. Parramatta get a boost of their own with Mitchel Moses returning.
