FINAL THOUGHTS
One wonders who was less ready for this Round 1 clash? The Roosters or the ground? Both were handed a thumping.
With a new coach, and a team that imploded in 2024 it was hard to work out which way the Broncos were going to go in 2025. Some predicted straight back into the top four, some say the rumours of complaining about pre season training meant no lessons had been learned from their awful 2024. But they put on some kind of show.
The wet conditions possibly slowed them down a touch, as they looked to have the ability to score with every set.
Their superstars did their jobs as you’d hope, but so did the players Michael Maguire brought into the side on pre season form and not reputation. Like Corey Paix, Gehamat Shibasaki, Jack Gosiewski and Kobe Hetherington.
A hat trick from Selwyn Cobbo is always welcome. When things are good, he scores. Broncos win.
It’ll work for as long as Ben Hunt and Adam Reynolds stay fit you feel. But one is less likely to play every week.
Talking of thumpings, poor Victor Radley.
