Just two races to go and the F1 circus heads back to the middle east where the Driver’s Championship has been wrapped up and Verstappen is now a Prost-equalling four-time Champion. But the team title is still to play for. Talking of four time Champions, we aren’t, but our 2024 Qatar F1 Grand Prix Preview might be one day.
The Gurgler’s 2024 Qatar F1 Grand Prix Preview brings some thoughts on the race itself, a more than a few barely interesting stats.
Essentially a quick summary of what a casual F1 fan needs in the shortest possible time for your convenience.

2024 Qatar F1 Grand Prix Preview – Race Potential Rating

The Gurgler does like to use some obscure drivers in our Race previews and report, so who better to use than Teo Fabi to determine a race rating system.
So before each race we give a rating out of ten for four key category that are loosely based on each letter of Teo Fabi’s surname. Don’t know who Teo Fabi is, you should.
FAST? 5 / 10 – The track looks like a badly drawn something-or-other by a child in kindy. Is it a dog, a snail, a butterfly, no matter, put it on the fridge for everyone to see. It’s got a straight, and some fast corners, and some slow ones.
ACTION? 3 / 10 – If by action you mean penalties for track limits, then yeah plenty of action. Having a sprint race probably doesn’t help, as they tend to be duller than the race. Well except for Piastri’s win first win here last season. Which he didn’t seem all that fussed about. Much like us with this track.
BIG HISTORY? – 1 / 10 – Another race that comes at the expense of somewhere good or historic.
INCLEMENT WEATHER? – 4 /10 The Weather Channel says no chance of rain, which given the race is in Qatar is no surprise. Temperatures in the mid 20’s is nothing exciting either. There is the potential if high winds though, which could throw the cars balance around.
RACE POTENTIAL RATING 33% – Ticking a box to end the season.

Note: given the lack of history for the Qatar Grand Prix, to add some filler, we have added the record for Middle East tracks – Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar.
