Arsenal are unbeaten in six home games on a Saturday v Wolves (W4 D2) with Wolves’ last win at Arsenal on a Saturday coming in 1979. Arsenal (W4 D6) have never lost at home to Wolves in December. Wolves are W2 L2 v big six clubs this season.

Wolves boss claims his side have lost seven points to VAR this season after their loss to Fulham on Monday, they will lose another three to Arsenal who jumped to first after last weekend.

THE STAT/S

Brentford are W1 D1 L1 against bottom six sides this season but have won their only game v promoted sides so far this season. Luton are W1 L4 v London clubs this season. Brentford have won their last three home games v Luton by a combined 10-0.

Luton continue to punch above their weight, but Brentford will spoil that party this weekend.

Burnley have lost all nine games on a Saturday this season, and four of Sheffield United’s five points have come in their nine Saturday games. Sheffield Utd (D1 L1) are the only side this season yet to beat a bottom six side. There have been 20 goals scored in the last four matches between these sides on a Saturday.

Here is the most 3pm Saturday kick off of the weekend and possibly the first half of the season, until they play each other again in the second half of the season.

Nottingham Forest are undefeated v bottom six teams this season (W1 D2). Nottingham Forest have a decent W2 D3 L1 record at home.

Everton simply need to win games like these after their penalty of 10 points. 

 

SATURDAY 8:00PM – NEWCASTLE v MANCHESTER UTD

THE STAT/S

Newcastle are undefeated in their last three matches v Manchester Utd. But Man Utd have won five games in a row at Newcastle on a Saturday. Newcastle are W6 L1 at home this season.

OUR THOUGHTS

Newcastle have picked off some big names at home this season, and their home record of W6 L1 will be tough for Man Utd. But we still see a draw coming.

 

SUNDAY 2:00PM – BOURNEMOUTH v ASTON VILLA

THE STAT/S

Aston Villa have won all four games v bottom six sides this season and Bournemouth have lost all five games v top six sides. Aston Villa have played 10 of their 13 games this season on a Sunday.

Aston Villa’s win v Spurs gives them a top four seat for now and on paper Bournemouth looks an easy win.

Crystal Palace are yet to beat a fellow London sides (D2 L3). West Ham’s record is W2 L1. Crystal Palace have won their only Sunday game this season and the only Sunday clash between them and West Ham.

Brighton W2 D3 are unbeaten in their last five games v Chelsea. Chelsea, along with Crystal Palace and Luton are the only teams outside the bottom three to have won one game or less at home this season.

Brighton are a bit of a bogey side for Chelsea at the moment, so no wonder having an ex-Brighton manager didn’t work out.

Fulham won on their last trip to Liverpool on a Sunday. Liverpool and Aston Villa are the only sides to still have a 100% record at home this season. Liverpool (W5 D3) are unbeaten on a Sunday this season, while Fulham are D1 L1 on a Sunday.

Should be an easy win for Liverpool.

Tottenham have won the last five games v Man City on a Sunday and Man City have failed to score in the last four. Spurs (W1 D2) are one of three sides to remain undefeated v big six teams this season (along with Arsenal and Chelsea).
