EVERYDAY NEWS: Aussies to Forget about Soccer Again

While the Socceroos’ loss to Argentina this morning has ended their fantastic FIFA World Cup campaign, it also means that 95% of punters can stop pretending they like soccer.

Nobody outside of the core Australian football fanbase will bother watching the A-League and will go back to watching various forms of cricket, the tennis in January, and maybe some basketball or golf, with zero interest in pursuing their ‘sudden passion’ for soccer from the last few weeks.

Meanwhile, born-and-bred Aussies who are supporting their heritage teams (where their grandparents were born) instead of the Socceroos will stay invested until those teams are knocked out, and then jump off the [insert country] bandwagon for another few years.
