EFL Championship Predictions Week 22 + League One/Two

So much football over this festive period, and not just Premier League either, as our EFL Championship Predictions Week 22 plus League One/Two try to prove.

We do love the Premier League and offer plenty on it every week – including our big weekly previews – but our first love is the English Football League’s three lower tiers.

First we have a summary of the matches ahead for each division, then a focus on the either the TV games or best games on offer for each division.

Our overall winning percentage is based on a number of stats of points per game won, with form and home and away factored in. There’s the overall H2H record plus some key season stats from the season so far. All fed into our SNC3000 Super Computer to determine the final winning chances.

If you’re looking for a bet, or just something mildly interesting about the football this midweek, then enjoy our EFL Championship Predictions Week 22 + League One and League Two.

A disclaimer that we are long term Ipswich Town fans and a recent AFC Wimbledon conversion a decade ago.

Four teams in the top six play each on Wednesday, and are in our Feature Matches below..

Boxing Day EFL Championship Predictions Week 22 – Feature Matches

Each week we’ll go a little further with the stats in a handful of games.

This week it is a huge five TV games available on BeIn Sports worldwide. We have some more in depth stats on them below.

Wayne Rooney’s Derby have been predicted to have a win for Wayne Rooney and Wayne Rooney’s Derby County over not-Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham City, who halted a three losing streak with a draw to Nottingham Forest last time out.

Speaking of Forest, they are one of the other TV games for the midweek, but our SNC3000 computer says Stoke to win.

Swansea and Reading are mild surprises in the top six if you think back to the start of the season, and they face off this midweek with prediction going the way of Swansea who have been beaten only once at home this season.

The big games of matchday 22 is 2nd v 3rd as Brentford take on Bournemouth – two teams that probably expected to be in the Premier League this season. For our predictions it was too close to call – with 50.2% to 49.8% – so draw it is.

EFL League One Predictions

Covid has hit four of the 12 games planned again this round, including our team Ipswich Town, who we are certain would have disappointed in advance.

EFL League One Predictions – Feature Match

We decided that our feature match will be plucky Accrington Stanley up against Hollywood stars Sunderland. Accrington have never beaten Sunderland, and our SNC3000 says they won’t this weekend. Sunderland are yet to lose away in League One fixtures this season, Accrington have lost only once at home in the league though, and have fewer draws in that run than Sunderland.

EFL League Two Predictions

The SNC3000 has copped out a bit this round with four draws selected from the 12 games, not yet hit by Covid.

Less than 50 miles apart doesn’t mean that Bolton and Morecambe have ever faced each other, and our predictions has a stalemate as the first result.

EFL League Two Predictions – Feature Match

The first League Two feature match is a match between top seven sides in leaders Newport County and 7th Exeter.

Newport lost their last home match, making it a first loss at home for the season, and coincidentally Exeter’s first away loss came last start.
