Football is coming thick and fast now, and with lockdowns reoccurring around Europe, helping find some winners is as important as ever, so here is our Alternative Week 7 Premier League Predictions for the week.
This continues our alternative way of selecting Premier League winners from lthe last few seasons. Sometimes they are based on football stats, and some have a very obscure link to football or news events of that week. Or based on something for no good reasons at all.
Given the transfer window has been shut for a bit, we thought we’d use that and a great stat from the TransferMarkt to determine winners this week.
To find out why and who, please read on in our Alternative Week 7 Premier League Predictions .
Alternative Week 7 Premier League Predictions – Transfer Window Spending v Table Position
So Transfermarkt website has come up with a measure that ranks the most recent transfer window spend along with the current table position.
The difference being the measure we’re using to get our Week 7 Premier League Predictions.
So they take the team’s ranking in money spent, and match it to the current table position. If the number is positive that very good. Negative means not great spending…yet.
So our theory is a team that is performing well to the budget is happier and more likely to win this week.
We say anyway.

Week 7 Premier League Predictions – Best of Barely Interesting Stats
Wolves have scored and conceded the exact same amount of goals both home and away. Although it has worked out better away than at home. But strangely all four of their away goals came in one game v West Ham.
Everton (1st) and Sheffield Utd (19th) have conceded the same amount of goals so far this season. Third last Burnley too.
Sheffield Utd have only beaten Man City once in the league this century. And that was in 2000. Taking in the seven games from 2000, there have only been eight goals scored in total, so not a big scoring game.
Burnley haven’t beaten Chelsea at home since 1983. Nor beaten them on a Saturday in October since 1966
West Ham last won at Liverpool in 2015. Before then it was 1963.
Southampton and Aston Villa have only met once on a Sunday, with Aston Villa winning that clash 1-0 in 1997.
Everton have only beaten Newcastle once 1971 on a Saturday in October.
No team has conceded more goals at home this season so far than Man Utd.
Brighton have beaten Spurs only once at home in 8 matches. Back in 1981.
The last four league games between Fulham and West Brom have ended in a draw, and six of the last eight.
The home side has won just two of the last 13 league clashes.
Leicester have won both of the last clashes in October 2-1 away from home.
