A TEAM BY TEAM 2017 NRL SEASON REVIEW IN 10 WORDS OR SO
MELBOURNE STORM
Way too good. Best all year. And more to come.
NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS
Sensational finals run, sensational Michael Morgan. Pity for injuries.
BRISBANE BRONCOS
Too Hot and Cold. Indecision over halves was killer.
SYDNEY ROOSTERS
Top 2 vast improvement. Dropped too much ball in finals.
PENRITH PANTHERS
Great late season run, hopefully NSW Origin don’t ruin Nathan Cleary.
PARRAMATTA EELS
Electrified fans with Top 4 finish. Primed for better next year.
CRONULLA SHARKS
Ptemiership hangover. Fact Gallen/Lewis are still best is worry.
MANLY SEA EAGLES
So Trent Barrett can coach. Future is Trbojevic.
ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS
Could/Should have made top 8 instead of Cowboys. Ruined great start to season.
CANBERRA RAIDERS
Pre season promise. Too many under performers.
BULLDOGS
ZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Hopefully the new head coach pays off. Pardon the pun.
SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS
Somehow became even more mediocre than last year. Someone had to go. Maguire this time around.
WESTS TIGERS
The “Big 4” really stuffed the club with their contract negotiations. You could argue the only one they kept is the least valuable.
GOLD COAST TITANS
You could blame it all on Jarryd Hayne, and we will.
NZ WARRIORS
Surprised with the depth of their disappointment in 2017. Surely won’t be anyone’s dark horse for 2018.
NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS
Tried so hard, had a great run of three straight wins, and the reinforcements coming for next year.
