World Cup 2026 Group H should see one of the favourites in Spain march through to the knockout stages, but it may not be as easy as it looks. One can’t forget that Saudi Arabia beat the eventual winners Argentina in the Group Stage in Qatar, and Uruguay have such World Cup pedigree that they can’t be discounted from annoying Spain as well. Although Uruguay left the 2022 World Cup at the Group, they went deep in the previous three and are a two-time winner, although that was a different era. Uruguay qualified fourth in South America, one of four teams on 28 points from 18 games in the end. Spain unsurprisingly topped their qualifying group, but did have to contend with Turkey who they beat and drew with. Group H sees a debutant in Cape Verde from Africa who topped their qualifying group that featured Cameroon. No side has a really strong record v African teams, so maybe we’ll see an upset from them. The first game v Spain will set the tone.

PREDICTIONS
Here’s where we put our money where our mouth is. Using all of the stats below and more, we have developed a H2H win rating for both teams for all Group Stage games. If the rating is within 5% of each other we’re calling a draw, otherwise the higher the rating the more likely to win. From there we come up with our prediction on the final table. All of that is available below for following, arguing or ignoring. We welcome any.
