World Cup 2026 Group G is at the lower end of the FIFA Rankings average, and looks to be an easy-ish path for Belgium, according to our Ratings. Belgium topped their qualifying group without losing but were pushed all the way by Wales. Belgium were third place winners two World Cup ago and failed to make it out of the Group Stage at their last World Cup, so overall performance was a wide range. Iran are doing well to make this World Cup politically, but have qualified yet again as ever, but have never made it out of the Group Stage. Egypt are back in the World Cup after missing Qatar and have Mo Salah as a point of interest, who should be much happier playing for country than club. Although are more than one player with Marmoush and Trézéguet to get excited about. New Zealand are back for the first time since 2010, the expanded format making life easier for the All Whites. They are looking for their first ever World Cup win, but will find that hard in this group.

PREDICTIONS

Here’s where we put our money where our mouth is. Using all of the stats below and more, we have developed a H2H win rating for both teams for all Group Stage games. If the rating is within 5% of each other we’re calling a draw, otherwise the higher the rating the more likely to win. From there we come up with our prediction on the final table. All of that is available below for following, arguing or ignoring. We welcome any. H2H MATCH RATINGS
